Abstract: A device, system, and method is provided for using an inclusion zone for a videoconference. The method includes capturing an image of a location, applying a subject detector model to the image to identify room coordinates for each subject detected in the image, and defining an inclusion zone for the location. The inclusion zone is based on a top-down view of the location. The method further includes determining if the room coordinates for each subject are within the inclusion zone, filtering data associated with subjects that are determined to be not within the inclusion zone, and processing data associated with subjects that are determined to be within the inclusion zone.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for implementing fewer or no nonparticipant framing. One method can include obtaining, by an electronic processor, an image of a video stream of images. The method can also include detecting, by the electronic processor, a plurality of potential participants in the image for framing. The method can also include identifying, by the electronic processor, a first potential participant of the plurality of potential participants in the image as a nonparticipant. The method can also include discarding, by the electronic processor, the first potential participant from the plurality of potential participants in the image for framing in response to identifying the first potential participant as the nonparticipant. The method can also include providing, by the electronic processor, a frame for the image where the frame frames a second potential participant from the plurality of potential participants and being smaller than the image.

Abstract: A method and system for content based image categorization is provided. The method includes: identifying one or more regions of interest from a plurality of images, in which each image is associated with a category; extracting a plurality of pixels from the one or more regions of interest and determining a plurality of color values for the plurality of pixels; grouping the plurality of color values in a codebook corresponding to the respective category; indexing the plurality of pixels based on the plurality of color values; creating a classifier for the plurality of color values using a support vector machine.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and system for orienting a disoriented image, and a method, apparatus and system for training a plurality of Gaussian mixture models (GMMs) to orient the disoriented image are provided. The method of training the plurality of GMMs includes: obtaining a plurality of color and texture features from the disoriented image; selecting a plurality of discriminative features from the color and texture features; calculating probabilities of each of the GMMs orienting the disoriented image, where each of the GMMs represents one of a plurality of rotation classes, and each of the rotation classes represents a rotation angle that is a multiple of a right angle. Furthermore, the system includes an electronic device that includes an embedded platform including a processor which processes the disoriented image.

Abstract: A method and system for rendering multiple hospitality services to a user via a virtual platform are provided. The method includes providing the virtual platform. The virtual platform includes one or more virtual guides in an electronic device. Further, the method includes establishing a connection with a server by the user using the virtual platform to receive the hospitality services via the virtual guides. The method also includes interacting with the user by the virtual guides to receive one or more requests based on the connection and rendering the hospitality services to the user by the virtual guides based on the requests. The system includes an electronic device. The electronic device includes the virtual platform comprising one or more virtual guides to render the hospitality services by interacting with the user. The system also includes a server in communication with the electronic device.
