Abstract: A secure online payment system in which, upon initiation by a card holder of a payment operation to an online merchant, the card holder is directed to a wallet-hosting website which stores at least one digital wallet associated with the card holder. Each digital wallet is associated with at least one payment card associated with the card holder, and the website has access to database storing payment card data relating to the payment card. At the website, a card holder authentication process is performed. Upon successful authentication, payment card data is extracted from the database, and a successful authentication indicator message is generated and returned to the merchant. The successful authentication indicator message includes the payment card data, code indicating that the card holder has been successfully identified, and code indicative of the fact that the payment card is registered in the wallet.

Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for processing a purchase transaction. The apparatus comprises at least one processor and at least one memory including computer program code. The at least one memory and the computer program code are configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus at least to receive, from a client terminal, data representing a basket for purchase, and a creation request to create a payment vehicle for initiating the purchase transaction based on the data representing the basket. The at least one memory and at least one processor also cause the apparatus to receive (i) unique consumer identification information of a consumer purchasing the basket, (ii) a transaction value of the basket, and (iii) the creation request, and determine whether the consumer is authorized to be issued a payment vehicle based at least on the unique consumer identification information.

The method includes providing a wallet container on a computing device; identifying one or more digital wallets using a wallet locator in the wallet container for automatically identifying digital wallets for containment in the wallet container; and containerizing the one or more digital wallets into the wallet container such that the one or more digital wallets are accessible through the wallet container. The wallet container is configured to provide access to a plurality of digital wallets through the wallet container. The wallet container includes a transaction receiver for opening the wallet container upon selection of an acceptance mark in an online payment portal accessible from the computing device.
