  • Patent number: 6790899
Abstract: A combination of a potassium salt of a perfluoroalkane sulfonate and a sodium salt of toluene sulfonic acid, preferably in the presence of an antidrip agent to provide high melt strength, act synergistically to provide flame-retarded polycarbonate compositions at low levels. Thus, a flame-retarded polycarbonate resin can be made by adding to the polycarbonate resin an effective flame-retardant amount of a potassium salt of a perfluoroalkane sulfonate and a sodium salt of toluene sulfonic acid. The two salts may be formulated in advance into an additive composition.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 29, 2002
Date of Patent: September 14, 2004
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Rajendra K. Singh, Ye-Gang Lin

  • Patent number: 4859232
Abstract: Substituted-aryl cyclopropanecarbonitriles and derivative compounds are antidotes for thiocarbamate, triazine-type and acetamide herbicides. These antidote compounds are especially effective in safening thiocarbamate herbicides used to control grassy weeds in wheat.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 5, 1986
Date of Patent: August 22, 1989
    Assignee: Monsanto Company
    Inventor: Rajendra K. Singh
  • Patent number: 4584012
Abstract: 1-Phenylthio-1-cyclopropanecarbonitrile and substituted phenylthio derivatives thereof reduce herbicidal injury of certain food crops treated with a herbicide for control of weeds.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 13, 1984
Date of Patent: April 22, 1986
    Assignee: Monsanto Company
    Inventor: Rajendra K. Singh
  • Patent number: 4584376
Abstract: Certain 1-heterocyclicthio-1-cyclopropanecarbonitriles have been found to reduce herbicidal injury of certain food crops due to the application thereto of herbicides that kill or control weeds that impede the yield of crops.
