  • Publication number: 20160267877
Abstract: A method for dynamically illuminating each pixel row of a display device (e.g., an organic light emitting diode display device) for a given video frame is described. For every video frame, the method comprises enabling the driving of a first row of pixels of the display device for a first time period, where the first row of pixels emits light during the first time period. The method also includes enabling the driving of a second row of pixels of the display device for a second time period, where the second row of pixels emits light during the second time period, and the second time period is different (larger or smaller) from the first time period. The first and second time periods may be dynamically adjusted depending on the image to be displayed.

  • Patent number: 7447700
Abstract: A method and apparatus for dynamically generating code that generates a mapping between territories and territorial assignees is provided. A code generator uses the territory criteria to dynamically generate the code for an assignee-to-territory-mapping-engine. The generated code uses the territory criteria and the territorial assignees to produce an assignee-to-territory-mapping. The assignee-to-territory-mapping can be used to determine the sales representatives that are responsible for a particular territorial assignee.

  • Patent number: 5756124
Abstract: A solid pharmaceutical tablet having a predetermined dosage that can be divided into a plurality of sub-dosage units by applying a minimal amount of force to the tablet. The tablet comprises a solid body having a top surface, a bottom surface, an outer surface, and an inner surface. The inner surface defines an aperture having a shape corresponding to the shape of the tablet. The area of the aperture is at least 15% of the area of the tablet. Impressed within the top surface of the tablet are a first plurality of symmetrical score lines and impressed within the bottom surface of the tablet are a second plurality of symmetrical score lines. The score lines extend from the aperture to the outer surface of the tablet. Finally, each of the sub-dosage units has a dosage that is a fraction of the predetermined dosage of the tablet.

  • Patent number: 5416780
Abstract: A location independent personal telecommunications system is presented that utilizes an out-of-band bi-directional burst data communications network to assist in the routing of personal communications via an in-band voice and data communications network. Access to the out-of-band network for communication is regulated by a multiple access communications protocol. Each user is synchronized with the other users of the network to the protocol and will access the network only during certain time periods that are reserved by the protocol for message traffic between network users. A collision avoidance scheme is included in the protocol to resolve instances of simultaneous transmission of message traffic by multiple users during the same time period.

  • Patent number: 5315636
Abstract: The location independent personal telecommunications system of the present invention enables a subscriber to have a single personal telephone directory number. When that personal telephone number is dialed, the system uses the existing public and cellular communication systems and a service node all comprising parts of the personal telecommunications system to route the call to the present, or last known location of the subscriber. The location of the subscriber is determined by the personal telecommunications system through a radio tracking system comprised of a number of radio base stations that monitor the subscriber's location by communicating with a personal communicator carried by the subscriber. The subscriber location information is transmitted from the base stations to the service node for storage and subsequent access when a call is placed to the subscriber's personal telephone number.

  • Patent number: 5233643
Abstract: A unique combination of frequency and time division multiplexed communications is presented to enable bi-directional burst communications between a substantial number of users over a single radio frequency communications channel. A service area for communications is divided into a number of cells, with the cells arranged into clusters. Cells in each cluster are similarly numbered with no two adjacent cells across the service area having the same number. The clusters are also numbered in the same manner. A cellular time division multiplexed waveform is used by the network to carry communications with each cell number and cluster number assigned a time slot. During the time slot corresponding to the cell or cluster number, all cells or clusters having that number will be simultaneously transmitting. This networking technique enables time slots to be reused across the service area.
