The ZLD system includes a mix tank, an amide tank including an amide, and a crystallizer. The amide tank is designed to direct the amide into the water stream, and the crystallizer is designed to receive the water stream from the mix tank.

Water containing a film forming amine is combined with a fluorescent dye, the pH of the water is reduced, and then the fluorescence signal of the fluorescent dye is measured. Also described is a liquid including from 0.1 wt % to 25 wt % of a stannous salt and from 1 wt % to 50 wt % of a caustic, and a liquid composition including a solution of urea ammonium nitrate and a stannous material. The liquid and stannous corrosion inhibitor compositions substantially prevent corrosion of a metal surface even when used in very small amounts and at a low pH.
