Abstract: A method includes receiving, at a server connected to a network, a plurality of emergency alerts from a plurality of devices connected to the network. The method also includes analyzing, by the server, the plurality of emergency alerts to determine an emergency type of each of the plurality of emergency alerts. The method includes categorizing, by the server, the plurality of emergency alerts based on the emergency type of each of the plurality of emergency alerts. The method includes prioritizing a first category of the plurality of emergency alerts and consolidating the plurality of emergency alerts of the first category into a consolidated alert. • Patent number: 9578541
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, determining message transfer delays based on transport layer control information associated with network traffic of a backhaul network coupled between a number of core network nodes of a wireless network and a wireless access node of the wireless network. The message transfer delays are representative of the network traffic between the core network nodes and the wireless access node. Weighting factors are assigned to the core network nodes based on the message transfer delays. The weighting factors are exposed to a scheduler that identifies a first group of core network nodes and a second group of core network nodes based on the weighting factors. The wireless access node preferentially establishes communications via the first group of core network nodes. The wireless access node establishes communications via the second group, responsive to an inability to establish communications via any core network nodes the first group.

  • Publication number: 20170048818
Abstract: Providing network device selection for broadcast content is disclosed. Changes to a LTE or LTE-B network can be propagated in real-time, or near-real-time, to a mapping profile representative of the LTE or LTE-B network. This mapping profile can be employed in updating the LTE or LTE-B network. Further, the mapping profile can be employed in establishing a new LTE-B session, adapting an existing LTE-B session, maintaining an existing LTE-B session, etc. Access to a selection rule can enable the LTE or LTE-B network to rank a determined bearer path of the LTE or LTE-B network. LTE-B network and service management can be performed by the LTE-B network or components thereof, such as, at a BMSC component. Moreover, network device selection for broadcast content can be virtualized.

  • Publication number: 20170048681
Abstract: On-demand time-shifted access of broadcast content is presented herein. A system can comprise a time-shifted access component that can determine that a mobile device is receiving a broadcast transmission of broadcast content from a broadcast enabled access point device that is configured to send the broadcast content to multiple devices via a point-to-multipoint communication protocol. A storage component can store a copy of the broadcast content in a memory in response to receiving, from the mobile device, an interrupt request to interrupt the broadcast transmission. The time-shifted access component can initiate a transmission of a portion of the copy of the broadcast content to the mobile device in response to receiving a play request from the mobile device. Further, in response to receiving, from the mobile device, a broadcast request to resume the broadcast transmission, the time-shifted access component can halt the transmission and resume the broadcast transmission.

  • Publication number: 20170048111
Abstract: Providing integrated LTE-B network and service management is disclosed. Changes to an LTE or LTE-B network can be propagated in real-time, or near-real-time, to a mapping profile representative of the LTE or LTE-B network. This mapping profile can be employed in updating the LTE or LTE-B network. Further, the mapping profile can be employed in establishing a new LTE-B session, adapting an existing LTE-B session, maintaining an existing LTE-B session, etc. Access to a reporting rule can enable the LTE or LTE-B network to proactively report changes to the LTE or LTE-B network. Integrated LTE-B network and service management can be integrated and/or centralized, such as, at a carrier-network, core-component. Moreover, integrated LTE-B network and service management can be virtualized.

  • Publication number: 20170041748
Abstract: Location based provisioning and broadcasting of content utilizing a multimedia broadcast service is presented herein. A system can comprise a service component, a location component, and a content component. The service component can be configured to receive a request for a client service. The location component can be configured to determine, based on the request, a location corresponding to a mobile device. Based on the location, the content component can be configured to provision a broadcast service device to source content corresponding to the client service, and initiate a broadcast transmission of the content to the mobile device, e.g., using a broadcast enabled access point device that is configured to send broadcast data to multiple devices via a point-to-multipoint communication protocol.

  • Publication number: 20170013421
Abstract: Dynamically switching between broadcast and unicast services for service continuity between wireless networks is presented herein. A system can comprise a detection component configured to determine that a mobile device is receiving a broadcast transmission of broadcast data from a broadcast enabled access point device configured to send, via a broadcast service wireless coverage area, the broadcast data to multiple devices via a point-to-multipoint communication protocol. Further, the detection component can detect a movement of the mobile device from the broadcast service wireless coverage area to a unicast service wireless coverage area. A transfer component can initiate, in response to the detection, a unicast transmission of the broadcast data from a unicast enabled access point device to the mobile device—the unicast enabled access point device configured to send, via the unicast service wireless coverage area, the broadcast data to a single device via a point-to-point communication protocol.

  • Publication number: 20160316351
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a device, process or software that receives data for distribution to a multiple mobile devices, wherein the distribution is via a data dissemination service. A request is sent to a core network element over a control signaling interface to establish a wireless bearer service. The wireless bearer service can be used to wirelessly distribute the data to the multiple mobile devices via a radio access node. A confirmation is received of the establishment of the wireless bearer service, and the mobile user service is announced over the wireless bearer service. The data is forwarded to the radio access node via a wireless terrestrial bearer of the wireless bearer service, wherein the radio access node wirelessly distributes the data to the number of mobile devices via the mobile user service over a common radio channel. Other embodiments are disclosed.
