  • Publication number: 20240387057
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for predicting risk of ischemia in anomalous aortic origin of a coronary artery (AAOCA) includes receiving medical imaging data of a patient. The method includes extracting, from the medical imaging data, patient-specific morphological imaging biomarkers pertaining to AAOCA and incorporating the biomarkers into a computer model. The method includes simulating, using the computer model, hemodynamics of the patient under simulated stress conditions and a combination of variables, the variables comprising physiological properties of the patient. The method also includes predicting and outputting a patient-specific risk profile of ischemia and/or sudden cardiac death based on simulated hemodynamics.

  • Patent number: 7727772
Abstract: A fluid contamination analyzer has a sample cell containing a trapping medium capable of trapping contaminants suspended in the aqueous fluid flowing through the trapping medium, a light source for illuminating the trapping medium to cause the entrapped contaminants generate a secondary radiation indicative of the identity and quantity of the contaminants, and a photodetector for receiving the secondary radiation. The fluid contamination analyzer has a reflective shell in the form of an ellipsoid extending at least partially around the sample cell and the detector, the sample cell being positioned at one of the focal points of the ellipsoid, and the photodetector at the other point of the ellipsoid to receive the secondary radiation reflected by the reflective shell.

  • Publication number: 20070196364
Abstract: A process for lyophilization or freeze-drying of a pharmaceutical product is provided and a liquid formulation suitable for lyophilization. In particular, a process for lyophilization or freeze-drying a liquid formulation that includes a protein active agent, a bulking agent and a saccharide stabilizing agent is provided. The saccharide to bulking agent ratio and the protein concentration of the formulation are important factors that affect crystallization of the bulking agent during lyophilization and storage as are some processing conditions. In one embodiment, the saccharide is a disaccharide, such as sucrose and the crystalline bulking agent is mannitol. The protein can be an antibody or a non-antibody protein.
