Abstract: Embodiments provide a system and method for question and answer (QA) generation. Using a cognitive system having natural language processing capabilities, the QA generation system can analyze a corpus of documents, which can each have one or more headings, sub-headings, and fact statements. By analyzing the structural relationships of the one or more headings through a structural mapping engine, the QA generation system can score each fact statement against the headings to score the one or more facts for use as ground truths. Strong facts, with multiple relationships to the one or more headings, can serve as the primary basis for the ground truth established for a particular knowledge domain or sub-domain. Facts can be scored based on their lexical answer type score, their header relevance score, their relationship score, their structure score, and their domain header relevance score.

Abstract: A central configuration server is provided for managing user-specified configuration data for a configurable device. The central configuration server, which is separate from a configurable device to be configured, and which services a plurality of users, obtains a user identification and device information from the configurable device. Responsive to this, the central configuration server accesses an account database and uses the user identification and device information to retrieve, for the identified user, user-specified configuration data for the configurable device. The central configuration server then forwards the user-specified configuration data from the account database to the configurable device for use in automatically configuring the configurable device pursuant to the user-specified configuration data.

Methods include collecting a sequence of database commands directed to a single database record in a database. The sequence of database commands are reduced to a net result by combining database commands within the sequence of database commands.
