    Abstract: An aerosol delivery device is provided that includes at least one housing enclosing a reservoir configured to retain an aerosol precursor composition. The device includes a heating element, and a microprocessor configured to operate in an active mode in which the control body is configured to control the heating element to activate and vaporize components of the aerosol precursor composition. And the device includes a heart rate monitor including a plurality of biopotential electrodes affixed to the housing and configured to obtain biopotential measurements from a user, and including signal conditioning circuitry configured to produce an electrocardiogram signal from the biopotential measurements. The microprocessor is coupled to the signal conditioning circuitry and further configured to control operation of at least one functional element of the aerosol delivery device based on the electrocardiogram signal or a heart rate of the user calculated therefrom.

The second connector is configured to engage a power supply, which is connected with and controllable to provide power to recharge a power source of the control body when the first connector is engaged with the control body and the second connector is engaged with the power supply. The PMIC is configured to obtain measurements of a temperature of the power source, compare the temperature to a predetermined range of temperatures, and control the power provided by the power supply to maintain the temperature within the predetermined range of temperatures during recharge.

The control component or motion sensor may recognize the vulnerability and an operation associated with the vulnerability based on the electrical signal, and the control component may control at least one functional element of the aerosol delivery device to perform the operation, which may thereby be performed in response to detection of the vulnerability.
