The method comprises generating a ranked list of network nodes that are available to the mobile terminal for establishing the connection, each of the available network nodes being ranked based on historical data relating to a plurality of different radio characteristics of the network node and on weighting factors associated with the plurality of different radio characteristics, each of the weighting factors having a value that is determined based on historical data relating to one or more mobile terminal usage characteristics; and selecting the network node for establishing the connection with the mobile terminal based on the ranked list of network nodes.
