Patent number: 9571952Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for intercepting socket calls from applications installed on a mobile device while a first wireless interface is active. The first wireless interface is a cellular interface. Upon determining to release the intercepted socket calls to the socket layer, a second wireless interface is activated. The second wireless interface is a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) interface. The sockets calls are released to the socket layer and transmitted using the activated second wireless interface. Upon substantially completing the socket calls, the second wireless interface is deactivated. The intercepting of the socket calls and the activation of the second wireless interface occurs while the mobile device is in an idle mode.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2012Date of Patent: February 14, 2017Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatdInventors: Arnaud Meylan, Tejash Rajnikant Shah, Jay Kumar Sundararajan

Patent number: 9264868Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for intercepting requests from applications installed on a mobile device. The requests are system calls that establish communication channels for the mobile device. The requests are captured and held from reaching TCP/IP stack of an operating system executing on the mobile device. An intercepted request is aggregated with other intercepted requests. The aggregated requests are bundled together and released to the operating system upon the detection of a triggering event. The capture, holding, and aggregation of requests from applications occur when the mobile device is in a background mode.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 2011Date of Patent: February 16, 2016Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Gerardo Giaretta, Jay Kumar Sundararajan, Satashu Goel, Arnaud Meylan, Debesh Kumar Sahu, Sachin Jain, Ajith Tom Payyappilly, Tejash Rajnikant Shah, Lorenzo Casaccia, Dino Flore

Publication number: 20150199645Abstract: According to one embodiment, a system receives a request to generate a customer profile comprising a plurality of customer attributes for a customer. The system determines a first record comprising a plurality of first record attributes associated with the customer by correlating at least one first record attribute to a customer identifier indicated by the request. A new customer profile is created in response to the request if no matched customer profile is found. The system communicates one or more of the consolidated customer attributes in response to the request.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 15, 2014Publication date: July 16, 2015Applicant: Bank of America CorporationInventors: Subramanian Selvaraj Sulur, Wan Lung Alvin Lee, Alpesh Rajnikant Shah, Carl Suplee

Publication number: 20150199688Abstract: According to one embodiment, a method comprises receiving an alert indicating one or more financial transactions associated with potentially suspicious activity. The method performs a validation of the alert, the validation comprising: determining that the alert comprises sufficient detail; determining whether the alert corresponds to an overlapping alert; and determining that the potentially suspicious activity corresponds to a potential risk. In response to a determination that the alert corresponds to an overlapping alert, the method consolidates the alert and the overlapping alert. The alert is associated with a customer profile. Alert data and customer information associated with the customer profile are enriched to yield an enriched alert. An event is created and communicated if the enriched alert satisfies an event-worthiness test.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 15, 2014Publication date: July 16, 2015Applicant: Bank of America CorporationInventors: Subramanian Selvaraj Sulur, Wan Lung Alvin Lee, Alpesh Rajnikant Shah, Carl Suplee

Publication number: 20150199767Abstract: According to one embodiment, a system receives a plurality of system records corresponding to one of a plurality of financial transactions. The system determines a subset of system records comprising a posting record, a channel record, and an instrument record that correspond to a selected transaction of the plurality of financial transactions. The posting record comprises one or more posting attributes indicating a change in an account balance that a first source associates with the selected transaction. The channel record comprises one or more channel attributes indicating how a customer interfaced with a financial institution that a second source associates with the selected transaction. The instrument record comprises one or more instrument attributes indicating an exchange medium. The posting record, channel record, and instrument record are consolidated and linked to yield a transaction record. The system stores the transaction record in a transaction database.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 15, 2014Publication date: July 16, 2015Applicant: Bank of America CorporationInventors: Subramanian Selvaraj Sulur, Wan Lung Alvin Lee, Alpesh Rajnikant Shah, Carl Suplee

Patent number: 9059669Abstract: A first device receives a sound suppression message from a second device via a communication network. The sound suppression message indicates that the second device will produce an audible sound. The first device determines a sound profile associated with the second device. The first device then modifies (e.g., suppresses or reduces) a volume of sound that that the first device (or a third device) produces in response to receiving the sound suppression request message and based, at least in part, on the sound profile associated with the second device. The sound profile can include a device identifier associated with classes, models, and makes of devices.Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 2013Date of Patent: June 16, 2015Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventor: Tejash Rajnikant Shah
