  • Patent number: 8458699
Abstract: In one embodiment, a virtualization analysis tool defines a classification weight value for each physical computing device from a plurality of physical computing devices, defines an effective utilization value for that physical computing device, and associates a virtual migration priority with that physical computing device based on the effective utilization value. The virtualization analysis tool defines the effective utilization value based on the classification weight value, a first utilization weight value, and a second utilization weight value. The first utilization weight value is associated with a first resource of that physical computing device, and the second utilization weight value associated with a second resource of that physical computing device. The virtual migration priority has a first value if the effective utilization value is within a first range of utilization weight values and a second value if the effective utilization value is within a second range of utilization weight values.

  • Patent number: 8063005
Abstract: A non-aqueous cleansing formulation having cleansing, moisturizing and/or exfoliating properties includes an oil phase and a natural surfactant derived from legumes and/or grains. The oil phase can include an oil component and a thickening agent. The natural surfactant can be in the form of a particulate flour product derived from Vigna radiata, Vigna mungo, Glycine max, Cicer aerientinum, Vigna unguicalata, Pisum sativum, Phaseolus vulgaris, or combinations thereof, which is dispersed in the oil phase. The flour product suitably includes a high protein flour to emulsify the oil phase and provide improved cleansing action. Such non-aqueous cleansing formulation can be used as skin care products, hand cleansers, hair cleaners or general use cleansers. Advantageously, the cleansing formulations are free of synthetic soaps and/or synthetic surfactants.

  • Patent number: 7773739
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for automating the process of configuring a telephone system. More specifically, the techniques disclosed herein enable a telephone system to monitor the behavior of users of that system and to configure the users' preferences based on their observed behavior. For example, the system may observe that a particular user frequently dials a particular telephone number manually. In response to this observation, the system may automatically configure the frequently-dialed telephone number as a speed dial number for that user. As a result, the user may dial the number in the future by pressing a speed dial button rather than by entering the number manually. Such an automatic configuration process may enable the telephone system to be adapted to its users' needs more quickly and accurately, and with less effort on behalf of the users, than is possible using conventional systems that require their users to perform configuration manually.

  • Patent number: 5823592
Abstract: A swabbing tool with a telescoping handle and a flexible tubular extension ending in a socket within which a variety of attachments can be inserted, to take swab samples of remote and distant surfaces, without someone having to actually climb up or go down to the surfaces, to determine whether a surface has been adequately cleaned. The clamp attachment has pivotally connected upper and lower members, which each have a jaw extending beyond a recess. There is a notch in the center of the jaws for holding swabs with narrow cylindrical handles. There are also attachments having a template with a hole of a known area. A swab on another handle must be used to take a sample within the hole of a surface which the template is held against. Extending from the rear of either kind of attachment is a cylindrical member, which fits inside the socket.
