  • Patent number: 7706277
Abstract: In an embodiment, a method is provided. The method of this embodiment provides transmitting data from a source node to a destination node, receiving a special flow control pause frame transmitted by the destination node in response to the destination node detecting a flow modification condition, and adjusting transmission of the data to the destination node in accordance with information included in the special flow control pause frame.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 18, 2005
Date of Patent: April 27, 2010
    Assignee: Intel Corporation
Inventors: Sutapa Chandra, Sachin Doshi, Raju Krishnamurthi
  • Patent number: 7564785
Abstract: A method for dynamic flow control includes accepting incoming data into a shared resource during a first time period after transmitting a flow control message, and diverting incoming data from the shared resource during a second time period that is after the first time period.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 21, 2004
Date of Patent: July 21, 2009
    Assignee: Intel Corporation
Inventors: Raju Krishnamurthi, Sachin Doshi, Vijay Chougule
  • Patent number: 7243171
Abstract: An apparatus and a system, as well as a method and an article, may operate to control a data flow associated with one of a plurality of ports sharing a resource, including a memory. The port having the controlled data flow may have an actual usage value above a determined average shared resource usage value associated with the plurality of ports.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 10, 2003
Date of Patent: July 10, 2007
    Assignee: Intel Corporation

  • Publication number: 20050038902
Abstract: A method and system for processing data packets are described. The method stores a data packet in a memory location and locks the data packet memory location when the data packet is an IP multicast packet. The method can also set a count equal to a number of transmission ports of the data packet, decrement the memory count after each transmission of the data packet and make the memory location unlockable when the status count is equal to a predetermined value.
