Abstract: A system for detecting mounting of a card skimmer at an automated teller machine receives detection data from sensors. The system converts the detection data from the time domain to the frequency domain using a wavelet transform to generate a wavelet matrix of coefficients. The system includes a convolutional neural network model to identify features in the wavelet matrix. The system generates a rain alert signal based on the identified features. The system includes a long short-term memory recurrent neural network model to determine a sequence of (i) an idle state, (ii) a hand approach state, and (iii) a card skimmer mounting state based on the detection data. The system generates a tamper alert signal based on the sequence determination.

Abstract: A card reader for reading a bank card and a method of use thereof is disclosed. The card reader housing has a card entry slot where a customer inserts a bank card, either a magnetic stripe card or a chip-based smart card. A camera is mounted adjacent to the card entry slot in a position to allow an image to be taken of an upper surface of a bank card inserted into the card entry slot. A chip reader unit reads the chip-based smart card. A controller is coupled to the camera and to the chip reader unit. The controller processes an image received from the camera to determine that the inserted bank card is a chip-based smart card in a proper orientation. The controller enables the chip reader unit upon determining that the inserted bank card is a chip-based smart card in proper orientation.

Abstract: A method and system is disclosed for monitoring the status of a system by providing a health score. A health scoring module accesses a configuration management database (CMDB) comprising a plurality of configuration items referencing physical, service and process information. A target value for each configuration item is decided, followed by collecting their current value. Comparison operations are then performed between each configuration item's current and target value and a health subscore is generated. The resulting health subscore is then indexed to its corresponding configuration item. Once indexed, a health score is generated from a predetermined plurality of health subscores.
