Publication number: 20240394718Abstract: A computer-implemented method is provided. A first transaction from a sender made via the sender PSP server to a receiver via a receiver PSP server is identified. When the first transaction is pending, at least one subsequent transaction from the sender to the receiver is detected. Transaction parameters of the at least one subsequent transaction is compared with transaction parameters of the first transaction for determining that the first transaction and the at least one subsequent transaction are associated with a single payment. One or more messages are transmitted, when one of the first transaction and the at least one subsequent transaction is identified as successful to indicate that one of the first transaction and the at least one subsequent transaction is successful and to discard other transactions.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 1, 2024Publication date: November 28, 2024Inventors: Rakesh Ramamurthy, Sandeep Doddipalli, Rajeev Gangapura Cho Iyer, Sriram Sethumadhavan, Sudhir Krishna V L, Alkondan Chockalinga Mooppanar

Patent number: 11935027Abstract: Described are a system, method, and computer program product for authentication by augmented reality (AR) for fraud prevention. The method includes receiving AR map data of an authorized area of operation associated with a merchant. The AR map data is generated from an AR recording device and includes one or more environmental anchors and one or more virtual object reference points. The method also includes storing the AR map data in association with a merchant identifier and receiving a request for authentication of an operation by a merchant point-of-sale (POS) device. The method further includes communicating at least a portion of the AR map data to the merchant POS device for execution of an AR re-localization process, and, in response to success of the re-localization process by the merchant POS device, authenticating the operation.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2021Date of Patent: March 19, 2024Assignee: Visa International Service AssociationInventor: Rakesh Ramamurthy

Patent number: 11347893Abstract: Described herein are a system and methods for obfuscating sensitive data during a data capture event in order to prevent unauthorized reproduction of that sensitive data. In some embodiments, an event listener detects an event likely to result in a data capture and notifies an obfuscation module. The obfuscation module then identifies sensitive data fields, determines an appropriate obfuscation technique for each data field, and obfuscates the identified data fields for the duration of the event. In some embodiments, any active data input actions may be canceled. In some embodiments, the data values within the obfuscated data fields may be revealed upon completion of the event.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 2018Date of Patent: May 31, 2022Assignee: Visa International Service AssociationInventor: Rakesh Ramamurthy

Patent number: 11238436Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a transaction processing system and a method for sharing expenses among multiple peers using a dual-chip payment card. The method includes receiving a request for creating a temporary pool session for a plurality of users from one of the plurality of users having a dual-chip payment card. In response to the request, the method includes creating the temporary pool session, holding a proportional credit amount of each of the plurality of users. Subsequently, the method includes associating the temporary pool session with a secondary chip of the dual-chip payment card of at least one of the plurality of users. Finally, the method includes processing one or more transaction requests received through the secondary chip of the dual-chip payment card of at least one of the plurality of users, using the temporary pool session.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 2019Date of Patent: February 1, 2022Assignee: Visa International Service AssociationInventors: Alkondan Chockalinga Mooppanar, Sudhir Krishna V L, Rakesh Ramamurthy, Rajeev Gangapura Cho Iyer, Sriram Sethumadhavan

Publication number: 20210312080Abstract: Techniques described herein are directed to a system which prevents unintended data leakage by intelligently masking/obfuscating sensitive data by carefully listening for application lifecycle events and acting upon those events. The system may manipulate the data which will be displayed just before the creation of a snapshot by the OS. The system may identify all data fields from the last-seen screen for the software application which are marked as sensitive and then obfuscate those data fields. Thus, the system can mask the sensitive data that appears in the last-seen screen, such that any snapshot taken during this time, all the sensitive fields will be obfuscated. Once the application enters to the foreground state completely, reverse logic can be applied for removing the masking to present actual data. Thus, the system maintains the security of sensitive data while minimizing any impact on the user experience.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 28, 2018Publication date: October 7, 2021Inventor: Rakesh Ramamurthy

Patent number: 10489567Abstract: A user, particularly a user with a visual impairment, enters a security code or PIN via a touchscreen using different levels of pressure for predetermined count times. The ability to enter the entire PIN without lifting the user's finger or stylus from the touchscreen helps to prevent the user's PIN from being compromised by a bystander. A haptic feedback device may be used to aid the user to count out the correct number for each of the digits of the PIN without visual or audio feedback that may be intercepted by another party.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 2017Date of Patent: November 26, 2019Assignee: Visa International Service AssociationInventors: Zeeshanul Haque, Rakesh Ramamurthy
