Publication number: 20180220002Abstract: A system for recognizing processes performed by a call center agent during a session may receive input data from a screen recording system that includes a video signal representing a plurality of frames from a time-series video recording or video stream of a desktop of a user electronic device. The system processes the video signal to identify one or more frames of interest from the plurality of frames. Each frame of interest includes a change in a layout of the corresponding one or more screens as compared to a preceding frame in the time-series video recording. The system automatically identifies actions performed by the call center agent that represent an interaction that the call center agent had with one or more screens corresponding to the frame of interest. The system generates an event log that includes a timeline depicting a visual representation of the identified actions.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 5, 2017Publication date: August 2, 2018Inventors: Wencheng Wu, Eric Michael Gross, Michael C. Mongeon, Jinhui Yao, Rakesh S. Kulkarni

Patent number: 9998598Abstract: A system for recognizing processes performed by a call center agent during a session may collect input data by initiating a screen capture logging thread to capture screen shots of a desktop of the electronic device during a session. The system analyzes the input data to generate one or more events, generates a mid-level event log comprising one or more of the events, and performs action recognition on the mid-level event log to ascertain one or more actions that were performed within the one or more graphical user interfaces by the call center agent during the session.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 2017Date of Patent: June 12, 2018Assignee: Conduent Business Services, LLCInventors: Rakesh S. Patent number: 9946936Abstract: A method and system for parking occupancy detection comprises collecting video of the parking facility with a video capturing device, counting an occupancy of a parking facility using at least one sensor to establish a sensor occupancy count, classifying each of a plurality of parking spots as occupied or vacant with a classifier according to the classification threshold in order to establish a video occupancy count, determining a difference between the sensor occupancy count and the video occupancy count, and setting the sensor occupancy count to equal the video occupancy count if the difference between the sensor occupancy count and the video occupancy count exceeds a difference threshold.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 2016Date of Patent: April 17, 2018Assignee: Conduent Business Services, LLCInventors: Howard A. Mizes, Rakesh S. Kulkarni, Peter Paul

Patent number: 9883035Abstract: A system for recognizing processes performed by a call center agent during a session collects from one or more input devices in communication with the electronic device, input data that includes data pertaining to one or more interactions that a call center agent has with one or more programs running on the electronic device that cause one or more graphical user interfaces to be displayed on a desktop of the electronic device during a session. The system analyzes the input data to generate one or more events and a mid-level event log having one or more of the events, and performs action recognition on the mid-level event log to ascertain one or more actions that were performed within the one or more graphical user interfaces by the call center agent during the session.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 2017Date of Patent: January 30, 2018Assignee: Conduent Business Services, LLCInventors: Rakesh S. Publication number: 20150106171Abstract: Methods and systems for dynamic pricing based on sliding mode control with respect to a HOT (High Occupancy Toll) lane. The controller consists of a feed-forward path and a feedback path. In the feed-forward path, a sliding mode controller in association with a sliding mode control module can be configured to achieve desired performance objectives under time-varying system parameters in real-time. An estimated VOT (Value of Time) distribution can be derived in association with the controller to reduce the difference between an actual and target traffic flow density on the HOT lane. The estimation of the VOT distribution can be updated by the controller at each time interval when the difference in densities is larger than a certain threshold. A low pass filter can also be employed to substantially improve prediction and the calculation of tolls to reduce fluctuations in traffic.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 11, 2013Publication date: April 16, 2015Applicant: Xerox CorporationInventors: Guangyu Zou, Lina Fu, Rakesh S. Publication number: 20140336027Abstract: A computer-based system for creating customized storage boxes, including: a computer with a memory element storing computer readable instructions and a processor to execute the instructions to: receive first data specifying an item for storage; receive second data specifying a number of the item for storage in at least one box or a use of the item; receive third data describing a physical attribute of the item; calculate, using the first, second, and third data, a volume of the at least one box; and transmit fourth data, including the volume. The system includes a packaging device to receive the fourth data and generate, using the fourth data, a two-dimensional layout, on a piece of media, for the at least one box. The layout includes a plurality of lines, on the piece of media for creasing or cutting the piece of media to form the at least one box.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 13, 2013Publication date: November 13, 2014Inventors: Rakesh S. Kulkarni, Thomas L. Maloney

Publication number: 20140218771Abstract: Methods and systems remove sheets of media from envelopes, and scan the envelopes and the sheets of media through an optical scanner. Such method and systems use the envelopes as separator sheets between groups of the sheets of media. During the scans each envelope is followed by a corresponding group of sheets of media that were within the envelope when the envelope was received. Further, the exterior of each envelope comprises classification data that classifies the corresponding group of the sheets of media. Such methods and systems produce electronic scan documents of scans of the groups of sheets separated according to the envelopes that act as the separator sheets. The electronic scan documents and the classification data can then be automatically provided to an electronic records system. The electronic records system automatically processes the electronic scan documents using the classification data.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 7, 2013Publication date: August 7, 2014Applicant: XEROX CORPORATIONInventors: Rakesh S. Kulkarni, Robert J. St. Jacques
