  • Publication number: 20190303796
Abstract: Described technologies automatically evaluate contact information and other submitted textual content to identify suspect data. Different data validation technologies alone or in combination identify frivolous content such as profanity, gibberish, and mismatched meanings. These technologies may perform regular expression recognition, naïve Bayes or other probabilistic classifications, named entity recognition, and subsidiary functions such as data cleaning, gibberish generation, and model training. A predictor value indicates how likely it is that the submitted data is valid input, e.g., a valid person name or valid company name, as requested. A trained machine learning based content characterizer embodies rules for content characterization, including implicit rules produced by supervised machine learning. Some content characterizers identify suspect content other than range violations or data type violations, by identifying profanity or gibberish.

  • Patent number: 10432342
Abstract: A multi-layer network planning system can determine a set of regenerator sites (“RSs”) that have been found to cover all paths among a set of nodes of an optical layer of a multi-layer network and can determine a set of candidate RSs in the optical layer for use by the links between a set of nodes of an upper layer, wherein each RS can be selected as a candidate RS for the links. The system can determine a binary path matrix for the links between the set of nodes of the upper layer. The system can determine a min-cost matrix that includes a plurality of min-cost paths. The system can determine a best RS from the set of candidate RSs and can move the best RS from the set of candidate RSs into the set of RSs for the links. The system can then update the binary path matrix.

  • Publication number: 20190280927
Abstract: Mechanisms are provided for “direct mode” (in-band) performance loss measurement in computer networks where packet loss is measured directly in the data plane using techniques based on ECMP paths. Counters on each of an ingress node and an egress node are configured by a network controller to count traffic for indicators associated with different equal-cost multi-path (ECMP) paths through a network between ingress and egress nodes. Each indicator is toggled on or off during a measurement interval during which traffic is measured by the traffic counters on the ingress and egress nodes for each ECMP path. The traffic counters (measured in bytes/packets) from the ingress and egress nodes are sent via event driven telemetry to the network controller for performance loss measurement determination.

  • Patent number: 10412012
Abstract: Techniques for intelligent, load adaptive, and self optimizing master node selection in an extended bridge are provided. According to one embodiment, a controlling bridge (CB) node that is part of a plurality of CB nodes in the extended bridge can determine a set of local configuration parameters and a set of local runtime parameters. The CB node can further broadcast the set of local configuration parameters and the set of local runtime parameters to other CB nodes in the plurality of CB nodes. The CB node can also receive a set of configuration parameters and a set of runtime parameters from each of the other CB nodes in the plurality of CB nodes. The CB node can then determine a particular CB node in the plurality of CB nodes to be a master CB node of the extended bridge based on the set of local configuration parameters, the set of local runtime parameters, the received sets of configuration parameters, and the received sets of runtime parameters.

  • Patent number: 10408863
Abstract: A method and apparatus for predicting a reference voltage in a memory subsystem is disclosed. A memory subsystem includes a memory controller coupled to a memory. The memory controller includes a lookup table having a number of different reference voltage values each corresponding to one of a number of different performance states. The memory controller further includes calibration circuitry configured to determine reference voltages for operation in various performance states. Responsive to returning to a performance state after operating in another, the calibration circuitry may restore the reference voltage to its most recently used value, and also obtain a predicted reference voltage. Calibrations may be performed at both the restored reference voltage and the predicted reference voltage obtained from the lookup table. The subsequent operating reference voltage may then be selected based on which of the two calibrations resulted in the largest data eye width.
