  • Patent number: 11065644
Abstract: A method for exciting sound-wave producing transducers (7) which have operating frequencies defining a transducer frequency range, in which a generator (9) produces an electrical excitation signal for the transducers (7), these electrical excitation signal being fed to the transducers (7), wherein the generator (9) carries out frequency sweeps in a frequency sweep range between a minimum frequency (fmin) and a maximum frequency (fmax) with an adjustable sweep rate, with a target frequency (fZiel) being defined within said frequency sweep range, this method being characterized in that the minimum frequency (fmin), the maximum frequency (fmax) and the target frequency (fZiel) are selected in such a way that a first frequency difference (?f1) between the minimum frequency (fmin) and the target frequency (fZiel) differs in terms of magnitude from a second frequency difference (?f2) between the maximum frequency (fmax) and the target frequency (fZiel) within a number of frequency sweeps, and wherein the minimum fr

  • Patent number: 9852619
Abstract: A method for operating an ultrasonic appliance (1), which ultrasonic appliance has an ultrasonic generator (2) and an ultrasonic oscillator (4) that has an electrical operative connection to the ultrasonic generator, wherein the ultrasonic generator supplies electric power to an ultrasonic transducer that the ultrasonic oscillator contains and stimulates said ultrasonic transducer to produce ultrasound. The proposed method is distinguished in that the ultrasonic oscillator and the ultrasonic generator communicate with one another (K1, K2), preferably digitally, via an operative data and/or signal connection, wherein the ultrasonic oscillator transmits identification data to the ultrasonic generator, which identification data allow the ultrasonic generator to recognize the ultrasonic oscillator. Furthermore, a communication device—suitable for carrying out said method—for an ultrasonic appliance and an ultrasonic appliance having such a communication device are provided.

  • Patent number: 9656299
Abstract: Provided is a method for determining an operating range of an ultrasonic vibrating unit (7), which ultrasonic vibrating unit (7) is supplied with electrical power by a generator (2) via an output (2a) and is excited to vibrate ultrasonically, wherein at least constituent parts of the ultrasonic vibrating unit (7), preferably an ultrasonic transducer (8) contained therein, and constituent parts of the generator (2), preferably a matching network (2b) on the output side, form a tuned circuit (2c, 2d). The method is characterized in that a measuring circuit (3) is connected upstream of the output (2a) of the generator (2), via the measuring circuit (3), a voltage (U) is applied to the tuned circuit, and by the measuring circuit (3), at least the phase, preferably magnitude and phase, of an impedance of the tuned circuit are measured, and at least the phase, preferably the phase and magnitude, of the impedance are evaluated in order to determine the working range.
