  • Patent number: 6871917
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for controlling electromagnetically operable valves of an electrohydraulic brake system for motor vehicles of the ‘brake-by-wire’ type having an electronic control or regulation unit that comprises at least one valve driver stage. In order to ensure maximum possible availability of the electronically controlled system functions, especially with a view to achieving a short stopping distance and a sufficient degree of vehicle stability regardless of the vehicle type or of whether the vehicle is loaded or unloaded, according to the present invention, the control and regulation unit includes two additional valve driver stages associated with which is a first and a second group of valves, the said driver stages being used to disable the first or the second group when malfunction occurs.

  • Publication number: 20040100146
Abstract: In a method for operating an electronically adjustable brake actuation system for motor vehicles comprising a de-pressurized hydraulic fluid reservoir (4), a pressure source (20) that can be controlled by means of an electronic control unit (31) and whose pressure is adapted to be applied to wheel brakes (6, 7; 13, 14) of the vehicle, a device (2, 32, S1) for identifying the deceleration requested by the driver, as well as valve devices (8, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 19, 26, 27) connected upstream of the wheel brakes (6, 7; 13, 14), the wheel brakes (6, 7; 13, 14) are connectable alternatively to the pressure source (20) or to the pressure fluid reservoir (4).

  • Publication number: 20040075337
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods for controlling an electrohydraulic brake system which represent types of emergency braking operating modes being actuated when various malfunctions occur, such as a malfunction caused by a mechanical fault of one of the pressure control valves, of a pressure sensor used to determine the wheel brake pressures, a high-pressure accumulator serving a an auxiliary-pressure source or a pump cooperating with the high-pressure accumulator, a separating valve closing the connections between the wheel brakes and an emergency pressure generator or master brake cylinder as well as when a loss in pressure occurs in any of the wheel brakes associated with the front or the rear axle.

  • Publication number: 20030167108
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of operating a motor vehicle control system with a device adapted to be arranged in a motor vehicle and comprising a nominal value generator, an electric or electronic controller, and a controlled system to which a control element is allocated, especially for the actuation of a controlled brake system, an electric or electromechanical steering system, or similar driver assist systems.

  • Patent number: 5902420
Abstract: In order to harden the surface of workpieces having complex shapes without reviously applying absorption promoting surface layers, a mixture of inert gas and oxygen are supplied to the processing zone while the workpiece is exposed to laser radiation. The degree of absorption is maximized by adjusting at least one of the mixing ratio, the volume flow rate, and the processing temperature to conform to a nominal value.

  • Patent number: 5048976
Abstract: A carrier bag or similar bag-like pack made from a plastic film or a similar material, with a carry handle provided on a narrow panel, which is formed by two oblong openings positioned a certain distance apart, between which a strip of material with the function of a carry handle is located. At least the area of the openings of this narrow panel has a backing panel on the inside.
