  • Publication number: 20030042942
Abstract: An output driver circuit includes a delay device disposed between a signal input and a driver device. The input signal to the driver device can be delayed by a predetermined value with the delay device. The signal amplitude of the output signal from the driver device is compared, in a comparison device, with the signal amplitude of a reference signal at a predetermined time. The time delay for the input signal to the driver device is then set on the basis of the comparison result. A method for adjusting a driver device is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20030030470
Abstract: A method for driving a plurality of circuit units to be controlled includes applying a control signal to a control signal connection unit and an activation signal to an activation connection unit. A hold signal is the generated on the in response to the activation signal. This hold signal is combined with the control signal to obtain a modified control signal, which is then made available at an output.

  • Patent number: 6446615
Abstract: A tank-venting system includes an active charcoal filter (20), which is connected to a tank (10). An intake manifold (40) of an internal combustion engine is connected to a tank-venting valve (30). The active charcoal filter (20) stores fuel vaporized in the tank (10). When the tank-venting valve (30) is driven open by the control unit (60), air from the ambient is drawn by suction through the active charcoal filter (20) and the fuel stored therein is released to the inducted air. A pump (50) is provided for checking the tightness of the tank-venting system and is connected to the control unit (60). A switchover valve (70) is connected downstream of the pump (50). A reference leak (81) is arranged in parallel to the switchover valve (70). A throughflow sensor (90) and a temperature sensor (91) are connected forward of the pump (50) which detect the scavenging air quantity, which is used to scavenge the active charcoal filter (20), as well as the intake air temperature.

  • Publication number: 20020072844
Abstract: A method for operating a motor vehicle having an internal combustion engine. In the method, the operation of the motor vehicle is influenced as a function of at least one operating parameter determined during an operating time of the motor vehicle. In order to take wear and tear of the motor vehicle and the internal combustion engine into consideration, an operating parameter suitable for determining wear and tear of the motor vehicle is detected, a value corresponding to the wear and tear is determined, and the operation of the motor vehicle is adjusted according to the determined value.

  • Patent number: 5881697
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method for adjusting a supplemental quantity of fuel which is supplied to an internal combustion engine during warm-up operation in addition to a basic quantity measured for an operationally warm engine. • Patent number: 5724032
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for compressing and displaying digital data, in particular beat-to-beat heart rate data in fetal monitoring, operates according to the principle of the "maximum absolute differences", i.e., the data discovered in a certain interval are compared with a start value, and the data with the highest absolute difference in relation to said start value is chosen as representative for the data discovered in such interval. This results in an effective data compression, without suppressing higher-frequency signal components--which are very important for certain applications--significantly.

  • Patent number: 5605138
Abstract: A method of proportioning fuel in an air/fuel mixture to be fed to an internal combustion engine upon starting, which method ensures reliable starting, even when fuel-injection settings which have been determined for good fuel, are used with poor fuel. As long as a test-end condition has not been satisfied, the engine's speed of rotation is checked to determine whether an increase in speed of rotation is present within a predetermined range. If not, a stored correction value for correcting the amount of fuel injected, which is determined as a function of the state of operation of the engine, is changed in such a manner so as to yield an air/fuel mixture which is ignitable in a desired manner, which mixture leads, upon combustion, to an increase in the speed of rotation within the predetermined range.

  • Patent number: 5564406
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method of metering fuel to the engine during warm-up operation which precedes normal operation of the engine during which a first amount of fuel is metered to the engine. The engine is equipped with a lambda control and a device for detecting a variable suitable for distinguishing warm-up operation and normal operation of the engine. A predetermined corrective factor (FWL) is provided in dependence upon the variable. A second amount of fuel is metered to the engine during the warm-up operation which is increased by the corrective factor (FWL) so that the second amount is greater than the first amount. Lambda control is engaged during the warm-up operation and provides a desired lambda value (.lambda..sub.des). A quantity is formed indicative of the mean deviation of the actual lambda value (.lambda..sub.act) from the desired lambda value (.lambda..sub.des) when the lambda control is engaged.
