    Abstract: The invention provides an articulated joint having a device for movably coupling a first movement element to a second movement element. The device comprises a fastening unit, which comprises at least one first braking element connected to the first movement element and at least one second braking element connected to the second movement element, a force application element which applies a force to at least one of the first or second braking elements, and a mechanical switching unit capable of taking up a coupling state and at least one separating state. The mechanical switching unit switches over from the coupling state into a separating state when the movement elements move relative to one another, and the mechanical switching unit deactivates the force applied by the force application element to at least one of the first or second braking elements when the mechanical switching unit is in the separating state.

    Abstract: A closure for a passenger car cover which is stretched against a stationary frame of a vehicle body, comprises a housing which is arranged on the top side and has an operating element and comprises a swivellable locking hook which interacts with a connecting link mounted on the frame. In its locked position, while having an inconspicuous appearance, the lock does not project with respect to the adjoining top contour in the direction of the passenger compartment. During the opening operation, the operating element takes up a position advantageous for gripping by a user. In the locked position of the lock, a first and a second operating element are arranged in a sunk manner in a recess of the top frame. The two operating elements interact such that the second operating element will be moved into a lowered gripping position only after the operation of the first operating element.

    Abstract: A locking arrangement for the releasable fastening of a vehicle roof on an immovable vehicle body which part has at least one hook lock whose locking hook is displaceable between its unlocked and its locked position in the longitudinal direction. A transverse displacement of the hook end takes place during the longitudinal displacement of the locking hook causing the hook end to move between its hooked and unhooked position. Devices are provided which control the transverse displacement of the hook end which have interacting positioning devices arranged on the vehicle roof and on the vehicle body part. The transverse displacement of the hook end is controlled by a slidable guiding of the locking hook.

    Abstract: The invention concerns a power-assisted lock for doors, hatches hoods or hard tops of vehicles and the like. In addition to a known pivotal latch and a catch for a releasable engagement with the pivotal latch there is a control disc pivotally mounted in the housing of the lock. A manual or power actuated drive means is attached to the control disc for the closing and opening operation. The pivotal latch and the control disc have a drive connection providing for limited play. The arrangement together with the catch leads to a locking of the control disc before a closing operation and an unlocking of the control disc by turning the pivotal latch during the closing operation of the lock. The pivotal latch has the usual pre-lock position.

    Abstract: A tilting lever is mounted between a pivotal guide head and one side of a sliding door for a vehicle. The tilting lever is made of two angularly spaced arms with abutment surfaces at one end. The abutment surfaces engage with abutment surfaces and cam surfaces on the guide head and sliding door so as to hold the tilting lever in one of two positions. In one position the guide head is prevented from pivoting, while in the other position the sliding door is prevented from sliding. The guide head and sliding door are mounted together on a supporting arm pivoted to the body of the vehicle whereby the sliding door is first moved to an intermediate position and then to an open position.

The pivots of the supporting arm and the rod are offset relative to each other, accordingly, when the sliding door is opened to an intermediate position parallel with the vehicle body, it will move perpendicularly to the vehicle body.
