Patent number: 10797458Abstract: A method is provided for producing a plug, having a plastic injection-molded encapsulation, for a fuel pump which arranged in a fuel tank of a motor vehicle. The plug has cables, stranded wires and a ground contact each protruding out of the encapsulation and each connected to encapsulated components. The plug elements and coils are inserted into a base plate. One core of a cable is soldered, welded or crimped to flat plug elements. The coils and stranded wires are each soldered, welded or crimped to a flat plug element. The base plate is inserted into a cavity of an injection mold, such that the cables and the stranded wires protrude out of the cavity through first passage openings and second passage openings, respectively, and cores are arranged in continuous openings of identical cross section in the wall of the injection mold. The cavity is then filled with a plastic.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 2017Date of Patent: October 6, 2020Assignee: Vitesco Technologies GmbHInventors: Gabriel Simara Lima, Otto Korst, Ralf Muehlhausen

Patent number: 7579727Abstract: In the case of a fuel pump, a plug for fixing electric contacts is manufactured from a material which is capable of swelling with fuel, and is inserted into a receptacle of a connecting piece by being fitted therein. Furthermore, the plug and the connecting piece have latching means for simplifying the pre-assembly. The connecting piece requires a particularly low number of components and can be manufactured cost-effectively.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2003Date of Patent: August 25, 2009Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Dirk Becker, Ralf Muehlhausen, Frank-William Ries, Thomas Schmidt

Publication number: 20070075543Abstract: The invention relates to a connection (7) of a fuel supply device in a motor vehicle, which is characterized in that a corrugated hose (5) is held in a peripheral groove (10) of a connection piece (8) by means of a glue (12) and in that the groove (10) protrudes from an undulation of the corrugated hose (5). The corrugated hose (5) can thus be connected to the connection piece (8) with very little effort. The connection (7) is also inexpensive to produce.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 19, 2004Publication date: April 5, 2007Applicant: SIEMENS AKTIENGESELLSCHAFTInventors: Peter Marx, Ralf Muehlhausen

Patent number: 6478613Abstract: Connectors for fuel pumps in motor vehicles have fuel flowing around them. Apart from the connections for the electrical supply lines, such connectors make contact with further electrical components. Corrosive components in fuels attack the connecting points of the connector to the electrical components, so that this can lead to failure of the fuel pump. The new connector is intended to have connecting points which are no longer attacked by the fuel. By extrusion coating parts of the connector with plastic, the connecting points are effectively protected against attack by fuel. Recesses in the plastic extrusion coating allow fuel to still flow around parts of the connector for cooling, while the regions of the connector which are at risk are separated from the fuel.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2001Date of Patent: November 12, 2002Assignee: Mannesmann Vdo A.G.Inventors: Jürgen Zoell, Ralf Muehlhausen
