  • Publication number: 20220257319
Abstract: A system for monitoring temperature when carrying out laser light-based lithotripsy in which includes an endoscopic assembly comprising a working channel for a fiber optic cable which is optically coupled to a laser on a proximal side and include a light exit aperture on a distal side, and an irrigation fluid channel opening into a region of the light exit aperture on the distal side which is in fluid communication with an irrigation fluid reservoir on the proximal side.

  • Publication number: 20100174176
Abstract: A medical auxiliary instrument for introduction into the body of a patient, the use of such an auxiliary instrument, to a positioning system for percutaneous interventions, and a method for determining a reference position for such a positioning system. To permit a particularly safe minimally invasive percutaneous intervention, especially in the area of the spinal column, a medical auxiliary instrument for introduction into the body of a patient has a tube and a trocar element arranged in the tube. The trocar element has at least one marking element which is designed to determine its position with the aid of a contactless locating method. The tube, at its one end, has a securing device for forming a releasable mechanical connection to a tissue part; of the patient in such a way that, when the connection to the tissue part is established, the position of the marking element serves as a reference marker for a positioning system for percutaneous interventions.

  • Publication number: 20100152576
Abstract: An auxiliary device for establishing a mechanical connection between a medical implant and a tissue part of a patient, a medical implant for use with such an auxiliary device, and a method for establishing such a mechanical connection. To establish a mechanical connection between a medical implant and a tissue part of a patient in a particularly simple manner, an auxiliary device for establishing a mechanical connection between a medical implant and a tissue part of the patient is provided. A securing element establishes a releasable mechanical connection between the auxiliary device and the tissue part. A marking element is configured to allow its position to be determined with the aid of a contactless locating method. A guide body is connected to the securing element and designed to guide the medical implant to the connection site on the tissue part.

  • Publication number: 20080285707
Abstract: The invention relates to a system and a method for medical navigation. In order to reduce the time required for medical navigation for transcutaneous interventions, the invention proposes that the position of a medical instrument (5) in an object (4) be determined with the aid of projection images (13, 14), and that the position be indicated in a three-dimensional structural image (11). The invention can be carried out in particular with C-arc X-ray appliances and CT X-ray appliances.

  • Publication number: 20080221520
Abstract: A positioning system for percutaneous interventions, which is useful with clinical operating procedures and permits rapid and precise insertion of a needle or other medical instrument into a patient's body. Positioning is accomplished by using a combination of navigation software and a reference frame and needle or instrument holder.
