Abstract: In order to improve an impact-absorbing crossmember which is mountable under a bumper unit of a vehicle body on a vehicle rear thereof, wherein the crossmember extends in a transverse direction running approximately parallel to the bumper unit and has support elements arranged at the ends for support on support regions of the vehicle rear, and wherein the support elements are connected to one another by a central unit of the crossmember, in such a way that the crossmember can be produced as simply as possible and thus as cost-effectively as possible, it is proposed that the central unit has a box-shaped structure comprising wall elements and that at least one of the wall elements of the box-shaped structure has extensions which extend in one piece from the box-shaped structure into the support elements and form a structural element of the support elements.

Abstract: In order to form a vehicle attachment unit that is mountable or mounted on a vehicle rear such that it is also usable on the vehicle rear in the absence of a trailer element, it is proposed that the vehicle attachment unit should comprise a crumple unit, which is mountable on the vehicle rear below a bumper unit and has an impact body that extends transversely to a longitudinal center plane which, in the condition mounted on the vehicle rear, coincides with a vehicle longitudinal center plane, and mounting bodies arranged to either side of the longitudinal center plane, supporting the impact body in relation to the vehicle rear and maintaining a spacing therefrom, and that the crumple unit should be configured for the motor vehicle and meet crash requirements thereof on the motor vehicle with no trailer element provided.

Abstract: In order to provide a trailer coupling in which the vehicle attachment unit is suitable for crumpling, it is proposed that the vehicle attachment unit should comprise a crumple unit, which is mountable on the vehicle rear below a bumper unit and has an impact body that extends transversely to a longitudinal center plane, which coincides with a vehicle longitudinal center plane, and deformation bodies arranged to either side of the longitudinal center plane, supporting the impact body in relation to the vehicle rear and maintaining a spacing therefrom, that the impact body of the crash unit should be connected to the trailer element, and that the crash unit should transmit to the vehicle rear all the forces that act on the trailer element when the trailer coupling is in use.

Abstract: In order to connect a trailer coupling, in particular for motor vehicles, comprising a ball neck, a cross member, which is provided with a holding unit for the ball neck, and also two spaced attachment parts, which engage on the cross member and connect the cross member to mounting elements, which are themselves mountable on a rear part of a motor vehicle body, in such a manner that undesirable moments and/or forces are transferred to the motor vehicle body on the lowest possible scale, it is proposed that a connection between the cross member and the mounting elements is achieved only by means of the attachment parts, that the attachment parts have a cross member holding strip element connected to the cross member and that, through at least one curved strip element running to the cross member without connection, the cross member holding strip element runs to a mounting strip element, which is connected to the respective mounting element.
