  • Publication number: 20260239331
Abstract: The present application relates to improved user equipment (UE) behaviors in instances of buffer status reports (BSRs) or other Medium Access Control (MAC) Control Elements (CE)s being triggered by particular events, such as packet discarding or long packet queuing delay times. In some cases, a UE may avoid unnecessary scheduling request (SR) signaling, e.g., if there is already a pending SR, the UE may cancel the SR if the data in the buffer is no longer available because of packet discarding. In other cases, if there is already a pending SR, the UE may signal the pending SR as soon as possible to a base station and provide a buffer status update. When a BSR is triggered by long packet queueing delay and there is already a pending SR, the UE may also want to signal the pending SR as soon as possible to provide packet queueing delay time information.

  • Publication number: 20260239249
Abstract: The present application relates to techniques for UE-based TA estimations. For example, a UE can be connected to a base station via a first cell and can be configured with information for a UE-based TA estimation. This information can be included in a cell configuration of a second cell, a group configuration of a group of cells, or a measurement configuration. The UE can perform a first timing measurement on a first reference signal sent by the first cell and a second timing measurement on a second reference signal sent by the second cell. Upon a command to connect to the second cell (e.g., for a first cell to second cell handover), the UE can determine a timing difference between the two timing measurements and determine, based on a first TA of the first cell and the timing difference, a second TA to use for the second cell.

  • Publication number: 20260231281
Abstract: Systems and methods related to user equipment (UE) behavior under cell discontinuous transmission (DTX)/discontinuous reception (DRX) mechanisms are disclosed herein. A UE may receive configuration information for a cell DTX/DRX pattern used by a serving cell that includes a periodicity, an offset, an active duration length of/for the cell DTX/DRX pattern, and/or UE behavior information defining one or more UE behaviors for a non-active serving cell mode. The UE may then identify a non-active duration of the cell DTX/DRX pattern during which the serving cell is in a non-active state. Finally, the UE may perform communication with the network on the first serving cell according to the non-active serving cell mode during the non-active duration of the first cell DTX/DRX pattern. Details for embodiments where the UE is further configured to use a UE connected mode DRX (CDRX) mechanism are also provided. Corresponding base station behaviors are also described.

  • Patent number: 12696342
Abstract: Systems and methods for multicast data traffic service continuity under multicast-broadcast services (MBS) operation during a radio resource control (RRC) state or mode transition are described. In some embodiments, a user equipment (UE) receives, from a network, while in an RRC connected mode, an RRC release message comprising an RRC inactive mode point to multipoint (PTM) configuration that uses an MBS session to receive multicast data traffic while the UE is in an RRC inactive mode; enters the RRC inactive mode from the RRC connected mode in response to the RRC release message; and uses the RRC inactive mode PTM configuration to receive, from the network, the multicast data traffic of the MBS session while the UE is in the RRC inactive mode. Cases where a UE instead re-uses an RRC connected mode PTM configuration after transitioning to the RRC inactive mode are also described. Analogous network behaviors are described.
