  • Publication number: 20250207456
Abstract: The present invention relates to a window or door hollow chamber profile (1), comprising (a) a core profile (30) comprising a plastic matrix formed of thermoplastic material and reinforcing fibres contained in the plastic matrix; and (b) a sheath profile (40) at least partially sheathing the core profile (30) and made of a thermoplastic material compatible with the plastic material of the core profile (30), wherein the window or door hollow chamber profile (1) is distinguished in accordance with the invention in that the thermoplastic material of the core profile (30) is a polyamide material and the reinforcing fibres are short fibres with an average fibre length in the range from 0.1 mm to 12 mm. In addition, the present invention also relates to a corner connection that has been obtained by welding at least partially mitred portions of a window or door hollow chamber profile (1) of this kind.

  • Publication number: 20240359384
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a polymer, in particular a thermoplastic, window or door hollow-chamber profile (1), wherein the hollow-chamber profile (1) which comprises at least one hollow chamber (2, 2?) is produced by means of an extrusion production process (3), wherein, during this extrusion production process (3), continuous reinforcing fibres (5) are integrated into the polymer matrix (4) of the hollow-chamber profile (1), and wherein the extrusion production process (3) is intended to produce at least one continuously fibre-reinforced core profile (10) of the hollow-chamber profile (1), which core profile has at least one hollow chamber (2), and the core profile (10) is provided with a preferably extruded outer coating (12) to improve the surface quality of the hollow-chamber profile (1).
