  • Publication number: 20050257059
Abstract: The present invention concerns a device and a process for signing digital streams, each of them comprising contents, related to audiovisual information, and a signaling. The device applies encrypting to selectively determined descriptors of the signaling, called authenticated descriptors, to obtain signature. The invention also concerns corresponding authentication device and process. Application to authentication of DVB/MPEG digital streams, notably for MHP.

  • Publication number: 20050212434
Abstract: The invention relates to a lamp for a vehicle headlight with low-beam function, which lamp has an outer envelope (4) and emits at least visible light of different colors from several regions of the outer envelope (4), characterized in that in that a partial coating (2) is at least provided on the outer envelope (4) such that, when the low-beam function is being realized, at least that region of the traffic space which lies above the bright-dark cut-off can be at least partly illuminated with visible colored light which is scattered at said partial coating (2), while at the same time that region of the traffic space which lies below the bright-dark cut-off can be illuminated with visible light of a different color in defined regions.

  • Patent number: 6798138
Abstract: The invention relates to a halogen incandescent lamp for motor vehicles with an elongate bulb which is closed at one end and has a vacuumtight pinch seal at the other end, with at least one incandescent element arranged in the bulb, with a lamp cap connected to the pinch seal, and with current supply leads which are passed through the pinch seal to the incandescent element, with an annular optical filter which is provided at the closed end of the bulb. It is possible with such a halogen incandescent lamp in a simple manner both to change the subjective impression of the generated light and to improve the objective properties through emphasizing of a desired region of the spectrum.

  • Publication number: 20040181808
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of control of the displaying of audiovisual transmissions by a receiver furnished with means of receiving and of recording audiovisual transmissions. The method comprises a step of recording a first transmission selected by the user; and following an action by the user to display the recorded transmission, a step of reading a transmission of a second type prerecorded in the recording means (this transmission being for example of advertising type), and a step of displaying the transmission of the second type before the end of the displaying of the first transmission for a duration stored in the receiver, the displaying of the transmission of the second type being a condition for displaying the first transmission.

  • Publication number: 20040162980
Abstract: The present invention relates to a security device (3) and process for protecting messages (MSG) despatched to a receiver (2) comprising means of control of identification (21) by a modifiable current identification key (K′i). It also relates to a corresponding device (4) and a corresponding process for identifying messages. The security device comprises a unit for control of enciphering (11) of at least a part of each of these messages by means of a modifiable current enciphering key (Ki), in such a way as to produce a signature added to the message. It also comprises a unit (12) for changing the current enciphering key, selecting this key from a predetermined set (16) of available enciphering keys (K1 Kn), as well as a unit (13) for registering a key identifier (KeyID) in this message.

  • Patent number: 6766366
Abstract: A function is to be loaded from a first computer onto a second computer via a network, preferably a computer network or a communication network. To that end, the second computer, in addition to containing an operating system, also contains a platform-independent system, preferably a JAVA virtual machine, which assures that platform-independent code (JAVA byte code) can be run on this second computer by the operating system of the second computer. In addition to platform-independent code, platform-dependent code, specifically for the hardware of the second computer, can be loaded from the first computer, whereby the losses in running time resulting from platform-independent code are avoided. To that end, the first computer comprises the required platform-dependent functions, preferably as dynamic libraries that are potentially requested from the second computer, in order to achieve gains in running time on the second computer.

  • Publication number: 20030046393
Abstract: Mobile clients (5, 6, 7) may use a remote host (3) providing shareable resources for using the Internet, broadcast systems, or the like. When different mobile clients (5, 6, 7) are concurrently using the same host (3), resource conflicts may arise. A centralized method for resolving those resource conflicts is proposed which is characterized by negotiating between the different mobile clients (5, 6, 7) about future rights of allocating the available shareable resources.

  • Publication number: 20010052022
Abstract: A generic information service structure is assumed and a method to transmit the information service from a server side to an unlimited number of users over a broadcast medium is provided. This transmission method comprises the following steps:—performing a fragmentation within each of categories representing said information service to create data fragments,—adding signalling information to every data fragment, which signalling information allows a consistent reassembly of said data fragments at a receiver on basis of predefined protocol rules, to create respective broadcast objects, and—transmitting said broadcast objects in an order according to an information content of said data fragment within said broadcast object. Preferrably, said fragmentation is performed dependent on the information content of the data to be transmitted.
