  • Publication number: 20060201622
Abstract: Methods, devices and support profiles are configured to match the method and device in profiles used to attach a support section for rubber seals to automobile body parts in the shortest possible time with the minimum of tools and personnel. The methods and devices are adaptable in such a way that modifications to the geometry of the sealing section and to the contours of the body parts are accommodated without long stoppages of the assembly line. The support sections and connecting regions mold to all the contours of automobile bodyworks, in particular corner regions, and permit the attachment of various sealing regions and application of extreme detachment forces. The support section for the sealing section is attached to the support surface in one single operation. The sub-steps of said operation are carried out by an industrial robot. Adhesive is applied to the support section during its production.

  • Patent number: 6726978
Abstract: The aim of the invention is the development of a support strip, which lends a seal, made from a rubber material, a stiffness adequate for production and assembly, has good extension and compression properties, has an adequate mobility in order to be able to follow the given directional curves of the chassis components and lends the seal a clamping force sufficient for a secure and durable seating of the seal on the attachment flange of the chassis components. Said aim must be achieved with the proviso of a lowest possible weight and low production costs for said support strip. The aim is achieved by means of an asymmetric arrangement of short (2) and long (3) wedge-like recesses and slots (4) in the support strip as in FIG. 1, permitting a low weight and low production costs in fulfilling the said aims. The invention further relates to an asymmetric strip which can be used as reinforcing support for a seal made from rubber material in chassis production of automobiles.

  • Publication number: 20030108713
Abstract: The objective underlying the invention, is to develop a mounting strip which would give sufficient strength to a gasket made of rubber-like material, for its manufacture and installation, would behave well under tension and compression, have sufficient mobility to be able to follow the required changes in direction of various body parts, and an adhesive strength sufficient for ensuring a secure and durable fit of the gasket on the arbor-mounted flanges of the relevant automobile body parts. The mounting strip must fulfill these objectives under the condition of as low a weight as possible and low manufacturing costs. The objective is accomplished by an asymmetrical arrangement of short (2) and long (3) wedge-shaped notches as well as slots (4) in the mounting strip in accordance with FIG. 1, which in fulfilling the objectives mentioned permit a low weight as well as low production costs.

  • Publication number: 20030075878
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a fixing system for clamping elastic rubber sealing elements, also in the form of hollow chamber profiles on thin-walled supports, for example, chassis sheet metal or other sheet metals with a 3-D external skin contour. Sealing elements, serve in particular on motor vehicles for sealing, damping, gap-filling and similar. A known or related type of clip (1) is arranged on one side of the support (2), with sealing element (4) and clamp strip (3) on the opposite side thereof, such that the fixing is achieved by means of aligned holes on the support, sealing element and clamp strip, through each of which a clip is inserted with the expanding arms pushed through, whereupon the expanding arms lock out and the clip in the opposing clamp strip (3) is thus arranged on a sealing element or within the hollow chamber of a sealing element as a one-piece whole or multi-piece components with a contour fitted to the 3D form of the relevant fixing section.

  • Patent number: 5970586
Abstract: The invention relates to a component for fastening a profile washer to a edge strip of a sheet which is surrounded by a groove in the profile washer. When assembled, a resilient metal clamp (1) surrounds with two legs (2,3) the edge strip. An intermediate layer (6,26) of a lower level of hardness is provided between the metal bracket (1) and the edge strip. The distance between the legs (2,3) lessens in the end regions (4,5) thereof, and widens again at the ends thereof.

  • Patent number: 5851455
Abstract: This is a proposal of a process and a device for the serial assembly of extrudates with securing elements or the like, where the securing elements or the like are fed to the extrusion tool during the extrusion process. Then they are inserted in said extrusion tool and anchored in the extrudate as a result of the occurring extrusion.
