    Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of a paint formulation containing metallic effect pigments for painting a vehicle equipped with a radar sensor and a lidar sensor, wherein the metallic effect pigments comprise a metal substrate that is optionally passivated and enveloped with at least one dielectric layer, the metallic effect pigments having an average pigment thickness of 20 nm to 2000 nm and the relative standard deviation of the average pigment thickness being at most 40%.
