    Abstract: A method for controlling a device for metering granular material and a metering device for metering granular material comprises a feed for the granular material from a container into a metering chamber. A metering piston can be actuated by a control device such that a gap between the feed and the metering chamber is opened by a predefined first distance and a second distance which is greater than the first distance. At least one sensor is arranged in a delivery line leading away from the metering chamber and is connected to the control device so that the metering piston can be actuated for a predefined duration such that the gap between the feed for the granular material and the metering chamber can be opened by the second distance if a blockage of the granular material is detected by the at least one sensor, so that the blockage is dispersed.

    Abstract: Increasing complexity brings with it the desire to combine the various display schemes necessary for the different automatic transmission variants in one display unit or one display module. To this end, provision is made to integrate the electronics for the display unit in the combined display scheme, wherein the electronics automatically detect which transmission is installed, preferably by a system cable harness of the motor vehicle, and hence which of the display schemes is needed in order to operate the appropriate light or display in accordance with the shift position. The unneeded display scheme or schemes remain in the deactivated state, and hence are not visible to the driver of the vehicle.

    Abstract: A coolant temperature control system for an internal-combustion engine in a motor vehicle having an electrically heatable thermostatic valve whose method of operation can be shifted by electrical heating in the radiator operation direction. Control devices are provided for recognizing a defect of another system in the motor vehicle which controls the coolant flow. When a defect of this other system is recognized, the thermostatic valve is heated. Particularly when a defect is recognized, the heating of the thermostatic valve is controlled such that the coolant temperature is maintained below a preset coolant temperature threshold. Preferably, the recognition of a defect is carried out by means logically monitoring output signals of the other system.
