Abstract: A method and apparatus of embossing a pattern into absorbent articles such as sanitary napkins, panty liners, and adult incontinence pads which simultaneously forms a perimeter seal on the absorbent article is disclosed. The method and apparatus utilize a heated sealing member and an anvil surface. The heated sealing member has a recessed region with a lower temperature and lower pressure embossing member therein.

Abstract: A panel assembly including a translucent panel and a fiber-optic strip disposed on the back of the translucent panel for imparting illumination to at least part of the translucent panel where the illumination of the fiber-optic strip by a light source results in illumination of the fiber-optic strip and at least part of the translucent panel.

Abstract: An elongated flat body member has an implant end arranged to be embedded in the jaw bone and a post end arranged to project out of the jaw bone for support of a tooth crown. The post end of the body member has a lateral projection which serves as an abutment locator for a permanent crown mounted on the post end. The post end of the body member has a highly polished smooth surface area which forms a re-contouring portion for gum tissue as it heals around the body member. The implant end has a tapered shoulder and the polished area has tapered portions leading into these tapered shoulder portions of the implant end.

Abstract: A rigid bar arranged to removably support an artificial denture is curved substantially to the longitudinal contour of the lower jaw bone. This bar has a front support arranged to be implanted in a front recess in the jaw bone and also includes a rear ramus implant portion on each side arranged to be implanted in the ramus portions of the jaw bone. Each of the ramus implant portions comprises a plate-like extension of the rigid bar having laterally facing surfaces. This rearward plate-like extension has an elongated length so as to project above or below the plane of the bar or in a preferred construction, such extension projects both above and below such bar to provide an extended implant attachment to the jaw bone structure. The plate-like extension angles forwardly from top to bottom so that it can be embedded efficiently in the rearward portion of the jaw bone.

Abstract: A rigid bar arranged to removably support an artificial denture is curved in the shape of the lower jaw bone and has front implant support means as well as rear ramus implant portions. Each of the ramus implant portions includes a tip end of the frame arranged to be inserted in a rearwardly extending opening cut in the jaw bone by the dentist. Such tip ends have laterally extending flattened portions which provide increased bearing support on the jaw bone. The front implant support comprises a depending extension arranged to be inserted in a recess cut in the top surface of the jaw bone, and such extension has a cross blade with one or more forwardly extending tabs arranged to seat on surface portions of the jaw bone. The cross blade may also have rearwardly extending tabs arranged also to seat on surface portions of the jaw bone.
