  • Patent number: 11525456
Abstract: An axial fan has an inner-rotor motor which includes a drive end, a non-drive end and a shaft which extends axially from the drive end; and an impeller which includes a cylindrical impeller cup and a number of impeller blades that extend radially from the impeller cup. The impeller cup has an open upstream end and a closed downstream end which is connected to the shaft. In operation, the motor spins the impeller to generate an airflow in a direction from the non-drive end of the motor to the drive end of the motor. The impeller cup is configured to receive the motor therein and surround the drive end of the motor but not the non-drive end of the motor. As a result, the non-drive end of the motor is exposed to the airflow during operation of the fan.

  • Publication number: 20100307372
Abstract: A method of repairing a laminate railway car door comprises the steps of forming a plurality of holes through a laminated door, the door having an internal surface and an opposite external surface. A first strip is placed adjacent one of the internal and the external surfaces. A second strip is placed adjacent to the other of the internal and the external surfaces. The first strip is secured to the second strip so that the laminated door is squeezed between the first and the second strips.

  • Publication number: 20070159281
Abstract: In accordance with certain embodiments, the present invention provides a magnetizing system. This system includes a guide channel that is configured to receive a ferromagnetic element. When in this channel, a magnetic field source of the system is operable to magnetize the ferromagnetic element. Also, the exemplary system includes an actuation mechanism that drives the ferromagnetic element through the guide channel. Because a positioning mechanism of the system has aligned the guide channel with a slot of an electromagnetic machine component, the ferromagnetic element is routed through the channel and into the slot.

  • Publication number: 20070108853
Abstract: A synchronous reluctance machine that has a stator and a rotor shaft operationally disposed within the confines of the stator. Laminations are axially stacked to form boat shaped segments. A plurality of selected boat shaped segments form a selected number of rotor poles about the rotor shaft and a plurality of support bars disposed intermittently between the boat shaped segments. Each segment of lamination is boat shaped with angular acuity facing towards the stator.
