  • Patent number: 9808076
Abstract: A cosmetic brush having a flare-shaped ferrule at its mouth, through which an advanceable and retractable, resilient bristle brush extends. The brush connects in the handle, with an elevator mechanism that has a cupped upper end which carries the brush, and effects the axial movement thereof. As more bristles are exposed at the ferrule's flare-shaped mouth in response to their advancing movement, the degree of flare of the brush increases. The resilience of the exposed bristles along with the flare adjustability, creates the same effect as a plurality of different sized, smaller brushes. There is thus eliminated the need for carrying multiple different sized brushes that might otherwise be required in order to produce an equivalent optimal brushing result.

  • Patent number: 9220332
Abstract: A cosmetic compact having a base, and a lid assembly having a window hingedly connected to the base. The lid assembly and window are movable between open and closed positions. A platform member carries the cosmetic product, and can move in the manner of a float between the base and lid assembly. A cam mechanism on the window in the form of depending lugs, cooperates with camming ramps on the platform member. Exteriorly accessible manually engageable grip members connected with the platform member, allow the latter to be rotated with the lid assembly closed. Such rotation effects a tightening of the seal between the window and the platform member, by virtue of the action of the window lugs on the platform member's camming ramps. Improved seal between the window and the platform member is accomplished by virtue of such tightening. In addition, the arrangement is such that the compact can be locked against inadvertent opening, simultaneously with the tightening and sealing action on the platform member.

  • Publication number: 20140084010
Abstract: A cosmetic compact having an expansive base member containing a series of upwardly-facing product wells to accommodate one or more cosmetic items, the compact further having a cover member, and having a shuttle piece interposed between the base member and cover member. The various parts have cooperating slide components for permitting relative movement of the members in four opposed directions. A versatile, four way slide compact construction is thus made possible.

  • Publication number: 20100054842
Abstract: The invention relates to a cosmetic dispenser for dispensing a cosmetic having an outer shell; a sleeve placed within the outer shell and slidable relative to the outer shell; a cup placed within the sleeve and slidable relative to the sleeve; the sleeve having an orifice; a button located on a side of the outer shell opposite to the sleeve; a bar placed between and attached to the cup and the button; a flexible tab extending downwards from the bar and inwards toward the sleeve, the flexible tab having an endpoint located at a downward and inward location of the flexible tab; and wherein the endpoint is engageable with and disengageable from the orifice for sliding the cup, the sleeve, and the outer shell relative to one another.

  • Patent number: 7537406
Abstract: A drive screw having an axial bore is disposed within a tubular container. A cap for closing the container has mounted therefrom an applicator that is insertable in the bore of the drive screw. A first seal and a second seal, on the drive screw, form with the inner wall of the container and the outer wall of the drive screw an annular compartment for housing a cosmetic composition. A normally closed channel is provided between the compartment and the bore of the drive screw. A drive on the cap and a complementary drive on the drive screw cooperate with the first seal and the second seal to decrease the volume of the compartment in which the composition is housed each time the container is opened by removing the cap. A valve opens the channel in response to the decrease in volume in the compartment when the cap is removed so as to permit composition to flow through the channel into the bore of the drive screw to contact the applicator.

  • Patent number: 5170380
Abstract: A holding device for medication containers of essentially any size or shape provides the patient with the last time the medicine was taken and includes a housing with a cylindrical cup shape opening with a micro switch member extending through an access opening into the cavity form one side of the opening. Individual positioning devices in the form of vertical open cylindrical tubes are sized to fit particular containers with the cylinders positioned proximate the switch member with an opening to allow the switch member to extend into the cylindrical bore opening. A bushing and interlocking tab index the position of each cylindrical tube in the correct position each time the positioning device is inserted into the base section of holding device. The sensor signal that a container is placed in the base is used to provide through numerical display the time the last medication was taken, the elapsed time since that dose and the number of times the medication was accessed in one day.

  • Patent number: 4795059
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for continuous delivery of a liquid from individual liquid holding containers to a common discharge outlet. A bulk package is adapted to removably store a plurality of sealed liquid containers in predetermined positions within the package. The top surface of the package defines a plurality of openings for exposing the tops of the individual containers stored within the package. A removable lid includes a plurality of sharp discharge outlets or hollow spikes corresponding in number and disposed in alignment with the openings defined on the top surface of the package. The sharp discharge outlets extend from the lower surface of the lid, and are employed to puncture the openings in the individual containers stored within the package. The lid itself defines a hollow chamber providing a reservoir for receiving the flow of liquid from the individual containers.
