  • Patent number: 5710468
Abstract: An end frame assembly for an electric motor is described. In one embodiment, the assembly includes an endshield, a bearing, an oil wick, and an oil well cover. The oil well cover has at least one endshield engagement tang for aligning with and being secured within an oil well cover engagement opening in the endshield and at least one bearing alignment finger for assisting in maintaining the bearing oriented with respect to a rotor shaft.

  • Patent number: 3963949
Abstract: Winding accommodating laminated structures having insulating member formed in situ thereon and method and apparatus for making same. Insulating member may include winding retaining elements that are useful while arranging one or more windings on the structure and for maintaining the winding in a desired position on the structure. Insulating member may be used to secure individual laminations together and may include winding termination holding and protecting means. The overall dimension of the insulated structure is preselected and fixed for a given nominal lamination stack height and variations in dimensions that would otherwise occur due to variations in stack height is taken up or compensated for by the formation of a layer of insulating material having a correspondingly increased or decreased thickness. In one exemplification, auxiliary structural member is formed integral with an insulating member to provide mounting means having a predetermined relationship with stator laminations.

  • Patent number: 3935489
Abstract: Dynamoelectric machine stator, rotor assembly including a shaft; member for supporting a bearing; lubricant reservoir cover; and relatively flexible thrust plate that provides a thrust bearing surface spaced from a wall of the cover to avoid a hard, sound transmitting connection between such shaft and wall. During axial excursions of shaft, thrust plate flexes to absorb thrust associated with such excursions. Skeleton type motor is illustrated wherein flexible thrust plate and vibration isolating member is interposed between the opposite pulley end of shaft and wall of oil reservoir cap or cover. Structure for spacing establishes predetermined minimum spacing between facing surfaces of wall and thrust plate.
