  • Patent number: 5173709
Abstract: An electronic direction finder (10) includes a navigation receiver (28) and a compass (32) to generate a bearing signal that indicates that direction of a desired destination. The bearing signal is received by a display driver (34) which causes an electronic display (14) to generate a visible image of a rotatable pointer that points in the direction of the user's desired destination. Preferably, the display also shows an electronic compass card indicating the direction of north.

  • Patent number: 4939421
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for reducing radiated interference from a light source wherein a filter device is coupled across the light source after a predetermined time has expired from the starting of the light source. In this way, the filter does not interfere with the starting of the light source, however, after being coupled, the filter prevents radio frequency interference generated by the light source from radiating from the light source and associated wiring and interferring with nearby radio receiving equipment.

  • Patent number: 4595927
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a Loran C cycle slip reduction technique that consists of sensing the signal to noise ratio and narrowing the phase locked loop bandwidth when a predetermined signal-to-noise threshold is exceeded.

  • Patent number: 4482896
Abstract: Apparatus for processing received Loran C signals and compensating for envelope cycle discrepancy (ECD). A measure of ECD is determined during the fine settle operation and compared to a reference value which is an average over a period of time. If the difference between the reference and the ECD measure is greater than a threshold, the decision made by the fine settle operation is rejected and the fine settle process is restarted. If the difference is less than the predetermined threshold the decision is accepted as being an accurate fine settle determination.
