  • Publication number: 20240131271
Abstract: A drive train for a wind-up injection device is described. The drive train includes a torsional energy storage adapted to be loaded or unloaded by a rotatable element, a rotatable user handle, a rotationally driveable expelling mechanism adapted to expel the liquid drug, and a clutch element coupled with the torsional energy storage via the rotatable element and including a ratchet for maintaining the rotatable element at one of a number of discrete angular positions against the torque of the torsional energy storage. The clutch element is adapted to transmit the torque from the user handle to the torsional energy storage, or alternatively from the torsional energy storage to the expelling mechanism. The ratchet is switchable from one position to an adjacent position by a torque transmitted from the user handle to the torsional energy storage. The drive train is adapted to dampen torque peaks visco-elastically and/or visco-frictionally.

  • Patent number: 8275544
Abstract: A system and method for determining a position of a remote object comprising inertial sensors and three axis magnetic sensor, together with a target sighting device aligned with the observation platform to determine a target line of sight and a target range finder to determine a distance to the target along the line of sight. A GPS receiver may be included for determining an observation platform position and orientation, The three axis magnetic sensor provides both magnetic north and vertical attitude information for improved rapid initialization and operation in motion. Magnetic anomaly information is detected by comparing IMU and magnetic navigation information and by other methods. Target identification may be determined by a human operator and/or by computer. The system may be integrated with a weapon system to use weapon system sights. The system may be networked to provide target location and/or location error information to another identical unit or a command information system.

  • Patent number: 6128508
Abstract: In a communications system, a multi-band power amplifier is employed to increase the power level of a signal for transmission over one of multiple frequency bands. In addition, a multi-band low noise amplifier is employed to scale the signal level of a signal received from one of the multiple frequency bands. In accordance with the invention, each multi-band amplifier is designed such that the gain values afforded by the amplifier to the components of the communication signal within the multiple frequency bands are significantly higher than the gain values to the signal components outside those bands.

  • Patent number: 5683917
Abstract: The disclosed method of making a semiconductor device comprises a screening procedure that facilitates identification of devices having relatively low flicker noise. The devices are typically semiconductor diodes. The procedure utilizes our discovery of a correlation between the reverse bias current I.sub.r of a semiconductor device and the flicker noise power, and comprises measurement of the reverse bias current and comparison of the measured value with a predetermined comparison value I.sub.rc. Devices having I.sub.r .ltoreq.I.sub.rc are those that have relatively low flicker noise. The screening procedure is simple and quick, and can be readily performed in a manufacturing environment.
