Abstract: The disclosure includes a system and method for detecting fine grain copresence between users. The system includes a processor and a memory storing instructions that when executed cause the system to receive user input regarding copresence detection settings for a first user device, the copresence detection settings comprising a location and/or a user access control list, and determine a current location of the first user device. The system may determine whether copresence detection of the first user device is enabled at the current location based on the copresence detection settings and the current location. Based on determining that copresence detection is enabled, the system may refine copresence and perform an action based on fine grain copresence of the first and second user device.

Abstract: Apparatus, systems, and methods may operate to examine a quantity of language-based communication to determine a plurality of topics associated with the quantity, and to determine whether a number of the plurality of topics converge to a selected degree. Responsive to determining convergence to the selected degree, ranking selected topics in the plurality of topics according to relevance may occur. The system includes a processor and a memory storing instructions when executed cause the system to: receive data indicating a first engagement action associated with a content item, the first engagement action performed by a first user; determine a topic associated with the content item; determine a topical reputation score related to the topic for the first user based on one or more second engagement actions performed by one or more second users associated with the content item; determine that the topical reputation score satisfies a reputation threshold; unlock the topic for the first user responsive to the determination that the topical reputation score satisfies the reputation threshold and provide the first user an ability to curate other content items associated with the unlocked topic.
