  • Patent number: 4520992
Abstract: A slow-closing valve mechanism for controlling metered flow of water for a predetermined time interval from a main inlet to a main outlet in which a timing chamber is provided with a valve seat at one end and an inwardly adjacent main flow inlet and a bleeder opening at its opposite end. A reciprocable valve stem extends through the valve seat and carries a main valve that is biased towards the seat by a relatively long low rate coiled spring surrounding the stem, and also carries a piston that is movable in a valve opening direction by a manually operable actuator at the outer end of the stem, and in a timed valve closing direction at a rate determined by a fixed hydraulic flow passage of an elongate capillary tube connected with the bleeder opening, this tube being coiled externally of the timing chamber and having its inlet in communication with the main inlet flow passage.

  • Patent number: 4141520
Abstract: A locking mechanism for a swingably mounted flight control surface member of an airplane, such as a rudder, which is embodied in a unitized frame structure that can be applied to either new or existing airplanes, which includes a bracket mounted assembly arranged for mounting within an enclosed portion such as the tail cone, in a position wherein a reciprocable locking bolt may be manually selectively moved by an outside ground attendant to a projecting position in locking engagement with a keeper carried by an adjacent part of the flight control member, and to a released retracted position. The bolt is connected to one end of a rocker arm carried by a rotatable shaft having an end extending to the exterior of the enclosed portion, and being arranged for releasably receiving an actuating tool.

  • Patent number: 4006951
Abstract: Manually controlled locking mechanism for a cabinet drawer of the slide mounted type, wherein a plurality of actuators are selectively manually operable to provide a plurality of different locking functions with respect to the slide drawer. One of said actuators controls locking elements which are arranged to function in the final closing movement of the drawer to forceably move the drawer to a fully closed and locked position, and in the initial opening movement of the closed drawer, after being unlocked, to forceably move the drawer outwardly from the fully closed position.Another of the actuators controls locking elements operable with respect to the slide mounting of the drawer in open and closed positions thereof to frictionally retain and hold the drawer against opening and closing movements, and against vibrational movements in horizontal and vertical directions within the cabinet.

  • Patent number: 4003614
Abstract: A drawer handle for use in the normal operation of opening and closing a cabinet mounted slide drawer, and which also includes manually operable components including a pivoted hook for engagement with a recessed keeper on the cabinet, and being operable in the final closing and initial opening movements of the drawer to apply an increased force over and above that required for normally moving the drawer in its open and partially open positions.
