  • Publication number: 20240103988
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a computer-implemented method and a control device for controlling a unit of an automotive system. An electrical/electronic architecture of the automotive system includes a first control unit, a second control unit, and the unit to be controlled. The method includes detecting that the control of the unit by a primary software cluster is faulty and/or defective. The method also includes activating the second control unit by the first control unit, whereby the second control unit is transferred to a fail-silent state and does not send any more potentially erroneous data. Additionally, the method includes controlling the unit by a backup software cluster of the first control unit, thereby maintaining the functionality of the unit.

  • Publication number: 20240004640
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a computer-implemented method and device for the automated update of a communication unit of a control unit of a vehicle. The control unit includes a plurality of software clusters. The method includes providing the control unit of the vehicle, comprising a plurality of software clusters, a communication unit and a Multi Device Connector Routine. The communication unit is designed for handling communication between the software clusters and has a dedicated manifest and a configuration table for this purpose. The method includes updating at least one of the software clusters and executing the Multi Device Connector Routine, where at least the manifest of the updated software cluster is read in; at least one new manifest is generated for the communication unit by way of the read-in manifest; and at least one new configuration table is generated for the communication unit.

  • Patent number: 11709717
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for designing an application task architecture for an electronic control unit based on an AUTOSAR operating system that is adaptable to a plurality of microcontrollers. Prior to association with a microcontroller, the method involves developing the application task architecture by using at least one virtual core different from the one or more cores of the microcontroller, the various tasks being assigned respectively to the at least one virtual core, and associating the at least one virtual core with the one or more cores of the microcontroller so as to allocate tasks assigned to the at least one virtual core to the core or among the cores of the microcontroller.

  • Publication number: 20150058505
Abstract: A method of operating a buffer memory of a data processing system on which two or more programs can run in parallel includes the following: a source code is generated for a program to be executed and the needed data of the program to be executed are stored in the buffer memory; at least one address register is simultaneously generated, with the memory content of the address register being addresses of each of the two or more programs in the buffer memory. The two or more programs in the buffer memory are accessed via the at least one address register.

  • Patent number: 6915783
Abstract: A method for the damping of mechanical vibrations in the drive train of an internal combustion engine by detection of vibration excitations in the drive train, and adjustment of the ignition angle of the internal combustion engine in the event of the occurrence of a vibration excitation in the drive train, in order to damp the vibration in the drive train, the adjustment of the ignition angle taking place in a flexible way.

  • Patent number: 6421625
Abstract: After the start of an internal combustion engine, a check is made to see whether a positive change in a measurement signal is established. A positive change is established if the measurement signal lies below a predetermined threshold value when the internal combustion engine is started. A fault entry is made if, within a predetermined time period, the positive change in the measurement signal, expressed as the difference between the measurement signal when the internal combustion engine is started and a present value of the measurement signal when the time period has elapsed, does not reach an expected value.
