  • Patent number: 4327126
Abstract: A process of making printed circuit boards in which the individual substrates involved are hot set formed from a suitable thermosetting resin and filler composition, with the cure being limited to the resin B stage. The side surfacing of the individual substrates that is to bear the metallic electrically conductive circuiting is catalyzed and then electrolessly plated with copper or the like electrically conductive metallic material to a thickness in the range of from about 50 to about 100 millionths of an inch, and thereafter the thusly plated substrates are hot set to fully cure same and perfect the bond between the substrate and its plating.

  • Patent number: 4317852
Abstract: A label assembly arrangement with label end finger hold capability for the individual labels, in which the label assembly comprises a carrier sheet and a plurality of pressure sensitive adhesive backed labels that are shaped to be expeditiously separated from the carrier sheet and centered on the desired substrate surface by finger gripping of the label end portions, which in accordance with the invention have the adhesive side of same masked at either end of the label to protect the adhesive during handling. The masking is effected by masking sections delineated and severed from the carrier sheet and removed therefrom when the individual labels are peeled from their carrier sheet.

  • Patent number: 4242007
Abstract: A method and apparatus for dispensing welding flux involving a flux supply and dispensing system comprising a tank assembly that includes an upper flux receiving chamber, a lower flux dispensing chamber, and a flux transfer chamber intermediate the upper and lower chambers. Flux is supplied to the flux receiving chamber either by a vacuum pick up arrangement or a suitable gravity or mechanical feed arrangement, and screened. The floors of the upper chamber and transfer chamber are each ported and equipped with separate plug valves arranged to move vertically to open and close with a plug type fit the respective ports for sequentially transferring a welding flux charge first from the upper chamber to the transfer chamber, and then from the transfer chamber to the lower dispensing chamber, under the control of a sealed pneumatic actuation system that keeps the flux from fouling the moving parts involved.

  • Patent number: 4108931
Abstract: A system of making molds for investment casting in which the patterns are formed from, and the sprue form is coated with, polyethylene glycol having a molecular weight in the range of from approximately 1,300 to approximately 1,600, or its equivalent and having admixed therein as a filler powdered graphite, in which the graphite comprises in the range of from about 35 per cent to 60 per cent by weight of the pattern forming material. The patterns are molded to the desired shape, and to include a gate section, and they are adhered to the sprue form in spaced apart relation by fluidizing the gate section end to make a welded connection with the sprue form coating. The mold is then formed about the patterns that are adhered to the sprue form, leaving the pour cup end of the sprue form exposed, to which heat is subsequently applied to sufficiently fluidize the sprue form coating so that the sprue form can be drawn out of the mold thereby leaving the sprue opening.
