  • Patent number: 7411659
Abstract: A sheet includes a plurality of incisions that define a plurality of frames. The frames are arranged in a geometric pattern to facilitate selection of an appropriate frame for cropping an image displayed on photographic media. The frames are connected to each other by an adhesive layer and substrate. Alternatively, the frames are connected by tags or micro-perfs. A transparent crop selector is used to facilitate selection of an appropriately sized frame.

  • Patent number: 6016908
Abstract: A sheet of foldable material is die cut to form a support area to receive a compact disc. The sides of the disc support area have a length substantially equal to the diameter of the compact disc. A triangular flap extends from each side of the disc support area and is connected thereto by double fold lines forming an edge for articulation of pairs of flaps between an open position for receiving the disc and a closed position. In the closed position, the surface of the flaps are removed from contact with the disc readable surface. In the closed position, a first pair of flaps abut one another in a wedged fit preventing articulation of the flaps into contact with the disc readable surface. The second pair of flaps is folded into overlying relation with the first pair of flaps. The folded flaps are releasably connected to close the package so that the interior surface of the package is removed from contact with the disc readable surface.

  • Patent number: 5611482
Abstract: A plurality of continuous feed storage envelopes are connected in a strip formed by a seal flap layer of glassine overlying a base layer of paper material. Connected envelopes are fed through a machine that cuts individual negative frames from a roll of developed film for insertion in the compartments of the envelopes. The envelopes are separated from one another in the series by tear lines. The lower edge of each envelope is sealed by a glue line. Extending transversely between the overlying layers are parallel spaced glue lines that form the lateral margins of each envelope. At one lateral margin the glue line extends the entire length of the envelope. At the opposite margin the glue line has a shortened length so that a portion of the overlying layers along one margin are not adhesively secured. When the envelopes are connected in the series, both lateral margins of each envelope remain sealed by the tear lines.

  • Patent number: 5534971
Abstract: A masking guide includes a plurality of masking frames each having a different peripheral dimension for positioning the frames concentrically one within another in a nested arrangement. Each masking frame has an aperture and the dimensions of the aperture vary from a base frame having an aperture of greatest dimension to an innermost masking frame having an aperture of the least dimension. The masking frames are positioned so that the dimensions of the apertures progressively decrease from the base frame to the innermost frame. The frames are pivotally connected one within another, permitting the frames to be raised and lowered relative to a proof. A photographic proof is positioned in underlying relation with the masking guide. The proof has a full print area which is exposed entirely through the aperture of the base frame. The remaining frames mask a selected portion of the full print area of the proof.

  • Patent number: 5413665
Abstract: A web of cardstock divided by transverse score lines includes card segments having apertures oriented with respect to an optical center point of each card segment. The web is continuously fed from a supply of cardstock by engagement of a tractor feed device with tracks of holes extending along the longitudinal edges of the web. A selected one of the holes serves to locate the optical center point of each card segment as the web is fed to a film mounting station. Film negatives cut from a strip of developed film are sequentially positioned in registry with the optical centers in the apertures of the card segments as the web advances through the film mounting station. An adhesive releasably secures the negatives in overlying relation with the apertures on one side of the cards to expose through the apertures a selected composition of the negatives.

  • Patent number: 5195683
Abstract: A film negative and matching proof are held for storage in a receptacle formed from a unitary body of flexible material folded to form panels positioned in overlying relation to form a first pocket and a second pocket. One panel is common to both pockets and serves as a boundary layer between the pockets positioned in back-to-back relationship. One pocket is closed along opposite lateral sides and at one end portion with the opposite end portion remaining open to receive the negative protected against undesired contact. The second pocket is positioned to receive the proof along an open end portion and an open lateral side with the opposite end portion and lateral side being closed to facilitate ease of insertion and removal of the proof.

  • Patent number: 5082168
Abstract: An article receiving apparatus and a method of forming an article receiving apparatus having an intermediate panel connected by a fold to a lateral panel on one side and by a fold in the opposite direction to the first fold to a panel connected on the opposite side. A bottom flap is formed by folding a portion of the three panels transversely to the longitudinal axes of the folds. The bottom flap is glued to one of the lateral panels. A pocket is formed between one lateral panel and the intermediate panel which opens at a first side of the article receiving device and the top portion of the article receiving device. Another pocket is formed between the other lateral panel and the intermediate panel, which opens on a second side of the article receiving device and at the top portion of the article receiving device.

  • Patent number: 4289333
Abstract: The map of this invention is permanently folded and attached to the cover which is folded along a front hinge and a rear hinge. A cover flap is attached to the rear hinge. The map is folded laterally so that is comprises a bottom strip and a lateral strip which are attached to the cover, a lateral pleat therebetween which can be flipped upwardly or downwardly, and a top lateral flap which can be flipped downwardly upon the lateral pleat or upwardly. The map is further folded longitudinally and alternately along seven longitudinal fold lines to provide three longitudinal leaves between the outer sections which are attached to the cover. The central leaf is adhesively secured together along the bottom strip and the lateral strip. The three leaves are slit along their outwardly folded fold lines, except along the bottom strip and the lateral strip thereof. The central leaf can be pulled outwardly to create a centerfold that is pivotable to the right or to the left.
