  • Patent number: 7858245
Abstract: An integrated fuel processor apparatus and enclosure for converting hydrocarbon fuel to a hydrogen rich gas. The integrated apparatus includes a fuel processor for producing a hydrogen-rich reformate that contains water and a combustible gas component. The fuel processor is enclosed in a gas impermeable enclosure that has a collection vessel for receiving water separated from the reformate stream. Methods for manufacturing an apparatus for separating water from a reformate stream for safe disposal and methods for separating water from a reformate stream for safe disposal are disclosed.

The collection vessel has a drain for directing the water out of the enclosure. The collection vessel is open to the interior of the enclosure so that combustible gases that are entrained in the water can evaporate to the interior of the enclosure. The enclosure has a ventilator for evacuating the combustible gases from within the enclosure. Where high levels of combustible gases are present, the ventilator is configured to direct the gases to a combustor. A gas detection sensor is included in the enclosure to monitor the interior of the enclosure.

  • Publication number: 20040197625
Abstract: A power generating apparatus for reducing product water in a fuel cell exhaust stream. The apparatus includes a fuel cell for conducting an electrochemical reaction producing electricity and an exhaust stream comprising water, a water tank having an exhaust stream inlet connected to an exhaust stream outlet of the fuel cell, and a combustor in fluid communication with an upper portion of the water tank. A portion of the water in the exhaust stream condenses and drops out of the exhaust stream within the water tank to give a water-depleted exhaust stream that is directed to the combustor. Preferably, the water tank is connected to a source of make up water and a drain. The tank can further have level control systems for maintaining minimum and maximum levels of water within the tank. The tank may have an outlet for directed collected water to a fuel cell, fuel processing or integrated fuel cell/fuel processing system. A method for separating water from a fuel cell exhaust is also provided.

  • Patent number: 5713698
Abstract: A system for coupling synthetic boomsticks having a pair of spaced parallel substantially horizontal coupling flanges projecting axially therefrom. The flanges form a loop receiving space therebetween and a coupling pin passes through this space between the flanges to lock a loop therein. The coupling pin is lockable in closed position to hold loop in place. A coupling pin and slot prevents rotation of the coupling pin except when the coupling pin is in retracted open position.
