  • Patent number: 8141693
Abstract: A display device (40) for use with a passenger conveyor (20) provides a traffic flow direction indicator and visible maintenance information. One example includes a display panel (42) supported on a surface (38) that is conveniently positioned between a handrail (28) and a landing (24). In one example, a single display panel (42) alternatively provides the traffic flow direction indicator or the maintenance information. In another example a first display panel (42) and a second display panel (48) are supported on a plate (43) that is selectively moveable into different positions, depending on which display panel should be visible. One example includes a remote signaling device (62) that allows an individual to control the information shown on the display device (40).

  • Publication number: 20090266674
Abstract: Method for testing the relative positional adjustment of a sensor (38) which is adapted for sensing a target element (34) which moves relative to the sensor (38), having the following steps: reading a value representative for a sensor signal; comparing the sensor signal value with a sensor reference signal value; and providing information on the sensor adjustment quality based on such comparison.

  • Patent number: 7568570
Abstract: People mover (2) comprising an endless tread belt (6) formed from several tread elements (4) connected to one another, which is driven by a drive unit about a first and second reversal point (22), and a side skirt (24) moved along with tread belt (6), the side skirt (24) comprising flange elements (28) joined to the tread element (4) and bridge elements (30) connected movably relative to flange elements (28). A sensor (38) is arranged adjacent to the side skirt (24), the sensor (38) having a limited detection range perpendicular to the circulation direction of side skirt (24), and a plurality of marking elements are arranged in a line on side skirt (24) along the circulating direction having a limited width perpendicular to the circulating direction.

  • Patent number: 7249667
Abstract: A display device (40) for use with a passenger conveyor (20) provides traffic flow direction information. One example includes a display panel (42) supported on a surface (38) that is conveniently positioned beneath the handrail (28) near a landing (24). In a particular example, a handrail entry module (32) includes a handrail entry (36) and a support surface (38) that supports the display (40). In one example, the surface (38) extends down and out from a vertical surface (34) associated with the handrail entry (36) to maximize visibility of the display.

  • Patent number: 6626279
Abstract: A method of controlling the drive of conveyor installation which includes a drive motor (26) and a frequency converter (42) whose output is adjustable, between a load operation and an idle mode, in the form of an escalator (10) or a moving sidewalk, where: in the load operation mode drive motor (26) is supplied with a line voltage at an essentially constant line frequency (fNetz), and in the idle mode with an output voltage of the frequency converter (42); the line voltage and the frequency converter's output voltage are compared with respect to frequency and phase position; the frequency converter (42) is set for an output frequency which has a predetermined spacing (&Dgr;fup, &Dgr;fdown) from the line frequency (fNetz); a demand to switch modes is signalled by a conveyance signal generator (48); and at the point in time (t1, t4), after a demand to switch modes has been signalled, when the output frequency of the converter (42) has reached the predetermined frequency spacing (&Dgr;fup, &Dgr;fdown) from
