  • Patent number: 8205859
Abstract: A valve handle assembly for a valve having an outwardly extending rotatable stem for opening and closing the valve by rotation of the stem includes a stop plate for engaging the stem, a handle for rotating the stem by engaging and rotating the stop plate, and a cup washer for engaging the handle and retaining the stop plate and handle on the stem upon placing a nut on the stem and tightening of the nut. The handle has an internal lip for retaining the handle and the cup washer has a raised flange for engaging the lip to retain the handle upon tightening of the nut.

  • Patent number: 6360956
Abstract: A temperature-actuated mixing valve for controlling outlet temperature in a fluid flow system including a valve housing having first and second inlets for introducing first and second respective supply fluids and an outlet. A shuttle assembly is positioned in the housing. A valve member is mounted within the housing and responds to the temperature of the supply fluids to vary their mixture ratio to dispense fluid at an outflow temperature. A shuttle member is positioned within the valve member, is moveable responsive to supply fluid temperature variation, and includes an elongate grip pad for manual removal of the shuttle member from the housing. A thermal actuator converts thermal energy into mechanical movement using a piston. A spring maintains the valve and shuttle members in a stationary condition relative to each other and permits movement of the shuttle member relative to the valve member for accommodating movement of the piston when the valve member has reached its limit of travel.

  • Patent number: 6328219
Abstract: A temperature-actuated mixing valve for controlling outlet temperature in a fluid flow system including a valve housing having first and second fluid supply inlets for introducing first and second respective supply fluids and a fluid outlet for dispensing a fluid at a predetermined outflow temperature. The mixing valve includes a shuttle assembly positioned in the housing. The shuttle assembly includes a valve member mounted for movement within the housing responsive to the temperature of the supply fluids to vary the mixture ratio of the first and second supply fluids as required to dispense fluid at the predetermined outflow temperature. A shuttle member is positioned within the valve member and is moveable as a unit therewith within a predetermined range of motion responsive to supply fluid temperature variation. A thermal actuator is provided of the type which converts thermal energy into mechanical movement by movement of a piston.

  • Patent number: 4876764
Abstract: A door closer has a cam surface on its pinion shaft. A lever mounted thereadjacent works against the shaft, and when the door is closed, engages a switch to indicate remotely the condition of the door. The lever fulcrum is mounted on an eccentric arrangement so that the change from "door closed" to "door opened" position can be set at a precise point.

  • Patent number: 4750236
Abstract: A door hold-open device is adapted to work with a conventional single-arm door closer. The device comprises a shoe moving along a track and connected to the closer operating arm. A detent in the form of a wheel is provided in the track which can be lowered through linkages by a solenoid to engage the shoe. Spring pressure on the detent can be adjusted in the field. The detent holds the shoe at one end of the track so that the door is held open. But the door can be forcibly closed causing the shoe to raise the detent, or the solenoid can be deactivated to raise the detent.
