Publication number: 20050240248Abstract: A tanning booth has high density tanning lamps and a ventilation system capable of dissipating the large amounts of heat generated by the high density tanning lamps, as well as the heat generated by a ballast that is used with the lamp. Multiple lamp units are positioned about the tanning booth. Each lamp unit includes a main body that retains a lamp housing and a blower. The lamp housing has one or more lamps, reflector panels, and a first glass cover. An air passageway is created by a second glass cover spaced parallel and apart from the first glass panel. The blower draws air into the housing from a first set of ventilation openings in the tanning booth wall, through the air passageway, and out a second set of ventilation openings in the tanning booth wall. In an alternative embodiment, the first glass panel can be removed so that air blows directly across the lamp.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 23, 2004Publication date: October 27, 2005Inventor: Ralph Venuto

Publication number: 20050065578Abstract: A tanning booth generally has rectangular wall panels, a floor frame, a ceiling frame and a fan that is mounted to the ceiling. The wall panels are interconnected in the shape of a figure-8 in order to form a front section or room defined by front wall panels and a back section or room defined by back wall panels. In use, the front room is a changing area that provides privacy for the user to dress and undress, and the back room is the tanning area. An inside door is provided to separate the front room from the back room. The front section and the back section are each hexagonal-shaped rooms that together form the rough figure-8 shape. Tanning lamps are provided to surround the user in the tanning room. The floor has a pattern of holes that permit air to be drawn through the tanning room by a fan mounted on the ceiling to sufficiently cool the user and lamps during tanning.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 10, 2003Publication date: March 24, 2005Inventor: Ralph Venuto

Publication number: 20040232257Abstract: A spray chamber has a spray system and a ventilation system. The spray system includes a compressor and spray jets that are positioned 360° about a user, from head to toe. A pump sends tanning lotion from a container, through a manifold, where it is distributed to the spray jets via conduits. The tanning lotion is dispensed in the form of a mist having particles sufficiently large in size that they rapidly descend to the floor where they are collected for disposal. The mist clears the booth in approximately 30-90 seconds, without the need for an evacuation system such as a fan or filter.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 24, 2004Publication date: November 25, 2004Inventor: Ralph Venuto

Publication number: 20040116880Abstract: A spray chamber has a spray system and a ventilation system. The spray system includes a compressor and stationary spray jets that are positioned 360° about a user, from head to toe. The spray system operates in a spray mode and a drying mode. In the spray mode, the composition is sprayed onto the user through the spray jets in the form of a mist. In the drying mode, air is blown through the jets to dry the user. The spray chamber also has a shower spray. In the rinse mode, chlorinated water is emitted from the shower spray to disinfect the spray chamber. The ventilation system includes exhaust fans that operate in the drying mode to draw air and remnant spray mist into a ventilation housing. The spray is un-filtered to maximize the exhaust of air and remnant composition from the spray booth. The remnant spray condenses on the walls of the ventilation system to create droplets that are siphoned by a sump pump as waste to a sewer system.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 26, 2003Publication date: June 17, 2004Inventor: Ralph Venuto
