  • Publication number: 20070109567
Abstract: The process underlies a set of three-dimensional structures which may also find utility in the studies of vision science, geometry and physics. The apparent luminance of mixtures of diffusely-reflected additive primaries (RGB) is altered by the introduction of zero (or low) light intervals. In one type of structure the intervals of darkness lie between colored regions as opaque pigments on essentially openwork structures. In a second type, the intervals of darkness are integrated between rapid successions of colored regions. In a third type the intervals of darkness are also integrated between rapid successions of colored regions but the domains of the primaries are first configured as openwork structures. When viewed under incidental white light, the objects exhibit additive primaries by diffuse reflection to stimulate sensations of secondary colors—magenta, cyan, and yellow—and tertiary colors.

  • Patent number: 5029163
Abstract: A synchronous protocol data formatter handles all 24-32 channels of a so-called primary rate version of a digital multiplexed interface or ISDN Primary Rates Interface for a communication system. The formatter relieves the host computer of the local area network of some highly specialized tasks, and, at the same time, provides the following augmented capabilities, which exceed those required by the C.C.I.T.T. standard, I.431:1. dynamic channel bandwidth allocation can assign arbitrary (even non-adjacent) time slots to create a super channel;2. a circular interrupt-queue in a shared memory enables the formatter and the host computer of the local area network to interact efficiently in updating and responding to changing conditions; and3. cyclical redundancy codes can be used on a more flexible basis than theretofore, e.g., can be generated upon only address and control fields for digitized voice signals, or, in a relay mode, can substitute an existing cyclical redundancy code to guard against memory errors.

  • Patent number: 4751697
Abstract: A switching system including a number of switching modules each having a plurality of access ports. Incoming and outgoing packet channels are extended between each switching module and an inter-module packet switch. Each switching module includes a packet switching unit that transmits user information packets, received from the access ports, via the incoming packet channel to the inter-module packet switch, and switches user information packets, received via the outgoing packet channel from the inter-module packet switch, to the access ports for inter-module packet-switched communication. The intermodule packet switch concurrently packet switches user information packets, received on a number of the incoming packet channels, via multiple independent paths to a number of the outgoing packet channels.

  • Patent number: 4683902
Abstract: A tubular frame structure for enclosing a storage area having a pair of tubular frame sections located in juxtaposition to each other with the storage area located therebetween. Extending across the storage area and connecting the frame sections is an enclosed housing. A flexible sheet material cover is located within the storage area. This cover has an open bottom which is to be movable between a lower (covering) position to an upper (uncovering) position. The movement of the cover is accomplished by means of a pair of cables which are conducted through the tubular frame sections. These cables are in turn connected to an electrically operated motor device mounted within the housing.

  • Patent number: 4619114
Abstract: An auxiliary outside air refrigeration mechanism for a refrigerated storage room comprises an air-to-air heat exchanger wherein the two air supplies are sealed from each other by a physical seal and by a positive pressure air differential between the air supplies. An inlet and outlet for one air supply is connected to receive and return storage room air and an inlet and outlet for the other air supply is connected to receive and circulate outside air. A control mechanism automatically renders the auxiliary refrigerating mechanism operational when the outside temperature is a predetermined temperature below the upper temperature limit in the storage room. The control mechanism actuates the auxiliary refrigerating mechanism at a temperature below the temperature at which the conventional mechanical refrigerating unit is actuated, thus supplementing the conventional refrigerating unit when the outside temperature is cold.

  • Patent number: 4352363
Abstract: A portable, collapsible bicycle storage assembly for protecting bicycles from weather and theft when left outside. The storage assembly is lightweight and easily disassembled thereby rendering it highly portable. The storage assembly includes a framed structure having at least one bicycle support for supporting bicycles in an upright position. The bicycles may be locked to the bicycle support and thereby locked to the frame structure. Further, a collapsible cover is mounted on the frame structure for entirely covering and enclosing bicycles when they are in place in their respective bicycle supports. The cover includes easily disassembled lightweight cover supports and a lightweight plastic cover to thereby enhance the portability of the storage assembly.
