Patent number: 12003244Abstract: Embodiments relate to updating spur cancellation at a victim integrated circuit (IC) in accordance with dynamic changes in the operating frequencies of an aggressor IC. The aggressor IC changes its operating frequencies at an update time that is determined in advance. The update time and the changes to the operating frequencies are shared with the victim IC. The victim IC dynamically updates the relationships between frequencies of local clock signals for the victim IC and the aggressor IC. The victim IC generates a spur cancellation parameter based on the updated relationships of local clock frequencies, the update time and the changes to the operating frequencies of the aggressor IC, and configures a spur cancellation circuit. In this way, the victim IC may perform effective spur cancellation despite changes in the operating frequencies of the aggressor IC and deviation of the local clock frequencies.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2021Date of Patent: June 4, 2024Assignee: APPLE INC.Inventors: Helena Deirdre O'Shea, Dmitry Cherniavsky, Tim Schoenauer, Ali Moaz, Rahmi Hezar, Ram Kanumalli

Patent number: 10992335Abstract: A transceiver for reducing a distortion component within a baseband receive signal is provided. The distortion component is caused by a baseband transmit signal. The transceiver includes a filter configured to filter the baseband transmit signal using a configurable transfer function to generate a modified baseband transmit signal. The configurable transfer function is based on a leakage component in the baseband receive signal, wherein the leakage component is caused by the baseband transmit signal. The transceiver further includes a processing unit configured to generate, based on the modified baseband transmit signal, an envelope signal representing the envelope of the modified baseband transmit signal. Moreover, the transceiver includes a combiner configured to combine the baseband receive signal and a signal related to the envelope signal.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 2017Date of Patent: April 27, 2021Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Ahmed Elmaghraby, Ram Kanumalli, Werner Schelmbauer, Stefan Herzinger, Peter Noest

Patent number: 10230421Abstract: A method for reducing a distortion component within a baseband receive signal is provided. The baseband receive signal is derived from a radio frequency signal and the distortion component is related to an undesired signal component of the radio frequency signal. The method includes generating a first local oscillator signal having a frequency related to a frequency of the undesired signal component. Further the method includes generating an auxiliary baseband signal using the radio frequency signal and the first local oscillator signal. The method further includes generating a second local oscillator signal having a frequency related to a frequency of a desired signal component of the radio frequency signal. Further the method includes generating the baseband receive signal using the radio frequency signal and the second local oscillator signal. The method includes modifying the baseband receive signal based on the auxiliary baseband signal.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 2016Date of Patent: March 12, 2019Assignee: Intel IP CorporationInventors: Ram Kanumalli, Andreas Mayer, Werner Schelmbauer, Ahmed S.
