  • Patent number: 8005358
Abstract: A system and method for suppressing beat noise in line monitoring equipment. A wavelength dither generator wavelength modulates a carrier wavelength of a test signal laser transmitter. A test code is modulated on the dithered carrier wavelength to provide a test signal output of the line monitoring equipment.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 24, 2007
Date of Patent: August 23, 2011
Assignee: Tyco Electronics Subsea Communications LLC
Inventors: Hongbin Zhang, Ralph Brian Jander, Ram M. Engira
  • Patent number: 7872737
Abstract: A system and method for time domain reflectometry (OTDR) using multi-resolution code sequences. One or more subsets of a set of predefined complementary code sequences may be transmitted as an OTDR signal to provide multi-resolution capability.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 27, 2007
Date of Patent: January 18, 2011
Assignee: Tyco Electronics Subsea Communications LLC

  • Patent number: 6023418
Abstract: A DC to DC converter particularly suited for use to boost or reduce the voltage with single battery systems allows insertion of the battery in either polarity through use of a symmetrical arrangement of solid-state switches which alternate charging an inductor for the DC to DC converter operation and establishing a ground depending on the polarity of the battery. The use of a solid-state switch to establish a ground avoids the severe voltage drop required of rectifier systems.

  • Patent number: 5431575
Abstract: A battery holder for axial-type dry cells, alkaline or other, has opposed faces for abutting either terminal of the battery and supporting two conductors, a center conductor contacting only the positive terminal of the battery and a flanking outer conductor contacting only the negative terminal of the battery depending on which terminal of the battery abuts the inner face. Center conductors are joined by a wire as are the flanking outer conductors so that the battery provides a single polarity of voltage through the wires regardless of the direction of its insertion within the battery holder. The center conductor is recessed within a groove to stabilize the battery and to prevent shorting of the different conductors by the battery terminals.

  • Patent number: 5339824
Abstract: A memory loop recorder records electrocardiographic data in a random access memory for transmission to a remote display terminal via telephone line. The ECG data in the loops is transmitted in reverse time-order to the display from a point related to the occurrence of symptoms. The remote display terminal displays the transmitted data from right to left thus correcting the time access of the graphical display but allowing more rapid diagnosis of the critical ECG data.

  • Patent number: 5153584
Abstract: A miniature multi-lead bio-telemetry and patient location systems includes one or more stationary location markers which transmit location data to an ECG unit worn by ambulatory patients. The electrocardiogram (ECG) unit monitors patient ECG data, a distress button and ECG unit status and combines this data with the location data received from one location marker and retransmits this combined data to a stationary receiver which may display the ECG data the system status data and the location data.

  • Patent number: 4317078
Abstract: The process and system for locating the position and orientation of an implement in space wherein a varying magnetic field responsive component (14) such as a coil is positioned upon the implement. A magnetic field source (12) excitable from an a.c. source derives alternating flux fields which are moved along or parallel to coordinate axes established at a reference plane. The coordinate position of the sensor is derived by determining the positions of minima and maxima flux linkage during magnetic field source movement.
