  • Patent number: 8185660
Abstract: A method for inter-working between an alternative network address type (ANAT) endpoint and an interactive connectivity establishment (ICE) is provided. The method may include identifying one or more network addresses operable to be used to communicate with a alternative network address type (ANAT) endpoint. One or more candidates operable to be used for interactive connectivity establishment (ICE) traversal may also be identified. A preferred network address may be determined from the one or more network addresses based on an ANAT endpoint preference. A corresponding candidate may be determined based on the ANAT endpoint preference. The corresponding candidate may use a candidate address to communicate. A media stream may be established between the preferred network address and the corresponding candidate address.

  • Publication number: 20110320833
Abstract: An example method is provided and includes communicating a first packet to a network element in order to indicate whether an endpoint can have its power managed by network communications. The first packet includes an Internet protocol (IP) address associated with the endpoint. The method also includes receiving a second packet from the network element to identify whether the endpoint can have its power managed. The endpoint is configured to have its power managed via a port associated with the endpoint. In more specific embodiments, a state associated with the endpoint is used to determine whether to power on, or to power off the endpoint. In other implementations, the endpoint is powered on, or powered off at a specific time based on a policy associated with the endpoint.

  • Publication number: 20110191497
Abstract: A system includes multiple processing devices. Each processing device is configured to receive first and second status flags from first and second neighboring processing devices, respectively. Each status flag identifies whether one or more of the processing devices are ready for operation. Each processing device is also configured to determine that all processing devices are ready for operation using the status flags. Each processing device is further configured to wait for a specified amount of time before entering operation. The specified amount of time is selected so that the processing devices are substantially synchronized. The processing devices could be coupled together in a ring configuration, the first neighboring processing device could include a right neighboring processing device in the ring configuration, and the second neighboring processing device could include a left neighboring processing device in the ring configuration.

  • Patent number: 7854849
Abstract: A method and apparatus for inline, controlled water separation from a multiphase hydrocarbon production stream. The method includes the steps of directing the multiphase hydrocarbon production stream to a gas/liquid separator in order to separate into a gas stream and a liquid stream. The level of liquid in the gas/liquid separator is monitored and controlled. The liquid stream removed from the gas/liquid separator is directed to an enlarged pipe section in order to separate into an oil portion and a water portion. The level of the oil portion in the enlarged pipe section is monitored and controlled. The water portion from the enlarged pipe section is directed to a liquid-liquid cyclone centrifugal separator in order to separate into a water stream and a hydrocarbon concentrated stream. • Publication number: 20100049748
Abstract: Control processes are managed within an organization, the organization including a plurality of divisions, by receiving process data provided from a first local user associated with a first division of the organization, the first local user providing the data via a first user interface, and the data defining one or more processes associated with the first division. The process data is stored in a database to be associated with the first division. The stored process data is provided to a second local user, associated with a second division of the organization, for selection of a process associated with the first division. • Patent number: 6967806
Abstract: An electrostatic actuator for adjusting a spacing. A first body has an electrically conducting surface, and a second body has a body surface separated by the spacing from the electrically conducting surface. A conductor layer and an actuator electrode are recessed in the second body, and an electrode face faces the electrically conducting surface across the spacing. The actuator electrode comprises a semi-insulating material with a combination of electrical resistivity and thickness which prevents shorting of the conductor layer to the electrical conducting surface through a dielectric breakdown in the spacing.
