Publication number: 20120143495Abstract: Methods and systems for indoor navigation utilize a smartphone equipped with various sensors. When a person whose initial position is unknown, and in some circumstances whose sight has been impaired, specifies a destination, the navigation system will calculate the coordinates of his/her present location from the sensor readings. It will then calculate the distance to be traveled to the destination and form routes to direct him/her towards the desired location. These steps are carried out using sensor readings and in some cases magnetic maps of the interiors of buildings stored on the smartphone. In some cases dynamic time warping (“DTW”) is used to align a recorded signature of the person's movement through the building with a stored magnetic map in order to identify the person's location within the building.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 13, 2011Publication date: June 7, 2012Applicant: The University of North TexasInventor: Ramanamurthy Dantu

Patent number: 7639647Abstract: A method and system for providing wireless-specific services for a wireless access network includes receiving at a call agent of a wireless access network a call origination for a mobile device. Whether the device is registered on the wireless access network is determined. If the mobile device is not registered, whether the mobile device is active is determined at a mobility control function (MCF). If the mobile device is active, the call is connected to the mobile device with a call agent based on a temporary line directory number (TLDN) assigned by the MCF and passed to the call agent in an extended session initiation protocol (SIP) message.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 2006Date of Patent: December 29, 2009Assignee: Cisco Technology, Inc.Inventors: Ramanamurthy Dantu, Shihlung Chiang, Haochih Paul Yin, Rasik Kachhla

Patent number: 7272746Abstract: A redundancy architecture is described for network processing systems which allows the network to recover from failure of a network processing system without interruption in service. The redundancy architecture allows network processing systems that use state information to associate network traffic into discrete flows, to provide system level redundancy to prevent service outages, or loss of network traffic resulting from a failure in any single network processing system. The redundancy architecture includes an out-of-band network link between the redundant network processing systems. The out-of-band network link allows the network processing systems to exchange state and other data as necessary.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2003Date of Patent: September 18, 2007Assignee: AudioCodes Texas, Inc.Inventors: James Robert Deerman, Ramanamurthy Dantu, Aswinkumar Vishanji Rana, Keung Chun Yue
